I am trying to convince my boyfriend that it's worth spending that much on a blender, and he thinks I'm crazy. If you love your vitamix and can't live without it, please let me know why so I can change his mind!

YES!!!! Sorry to yell, but I use mine EVERYDAY. Two times at least. Some days more.
It's great for Green Smoothies. Great for puddings, spreads, condiments, etc.
Easy to clean too. I rationalized the money I am spending by not using my stove/oven, in the long run - this is way cheaper. Plus, it's cheaper then medications needed when one eats SAD!

Same here! I love my vita-mix and I don't know what I would do without it. I not only use mine for smoothies, but, also for nut milks and butters, and raw soups, grinding nuts or making hummus, salsas. I have even made fruit roll ups. Well worth the money. Mine is over 10 years old and still going.

Because the Vitamix has such a powerful motor it does so much more than any cheap blenders can do. Its motor is even more powerful than my garage door opener. When I used my old Ooster blender it was unable to blend the heavier recipes. I use my vitamix for so much but some heavier things I made it recently were raw fudge, and red pepper hummus. When other blenders can't move, the vitamix still blends! He should be able to understand power. Just relate it to his powertools and getting jobs done. Certain jobs require you to have certain tools to get the job done right. It is the same with blenders. Some of the raw recipes just require more horsepower to mix all the ingredients and make them smooth. I almost burned out my other blender cause it just wasn't powerful enough. I also like the pitcher size of the vitamix it is much larger than my other blender and it also cleans up real quick just from water and a couple of soup drops. I would suggest you go to their website and have him watch the infomercials. It will help educate him.

This is great. Thank you for your replies. I'm definitely going to get one, and he will see the results. I am really excited about making green smoothies now!
