Just curious, what changes -- if any--have you seen in the whites of your eyes since you started raw. I have noticed that the whites of my eyes are not as bright and white as they used to be. Now they are spotted with little red veins and look splotchy and stressed.

This lead me to really start paying attention to the whites of other people's eyes. And I've noticed that in many people the whites are bloodshot, veiny, splotchy, discolored in some way, or even brown! I work with a 20-something year old woman who's eye whites are permanently blood red!

Please tell me that you have noticed a cleansing in this area. I long to have my eyes bright as they were when I was young.

The whites of my eyes became extremely white. They were looking a bit aged and yellowed before raw. They have gone back in time some 10 years at least, maybe even more.

Thanks GoYeThere...

That's good news. I guess I just need to focus on releasing toxins. It's just been bothering me because I'm young...consider myself young anyway...but the whites of my eyes are beginning to look old! So I guess it's just toxins.

Be well!

yep, sounds like you're releasing toxins, as you said. If they have a yellow tint I believe that means your liver is toxic.

My experience:

-There is SOME correlation. The whites of the eyes are a little like the skin. They will display signs of trouble, tiredness, detox, etc. They are a little more sensitive to external circumstances, however. Thus: any particular bad, dry, tiring or irritating day can result in darkening, discoloration, redness, soreness, irritation, etc.

It is detox. Don't worry. Your should be getting clearer and whiter the longer you are raw. Now that I eat very simply, I do notice that my eyes are not nearly as bright if I've eaten less than ideally (a lot of fat, eating too late at night, etc..)the day before, so I definitely think it is related to internal cleansing. Also, like Dave said, not getting enough rest, being stressed etc.. can cause our eyes to be duller.

All the best,

I hear that you want to see lots of veins in the whites of your eyes. I think doctors say if your eyes are too white you are dehydrated. I dunno

I just wish my eyesight would improve. I hate wearing reading glasses!
I guess I should be thankful I can see, huh?

Thanks for the feedback everyone.

I guess my question was missed. I just wanted to know what kind of changes people on this site specifically have seen in their eyes since going raw.

But thanks again.
