i've been surprised recently to come across posts about things i thought were raw but apparently they werent. examples- oat groats, maranatha's tahini...was wondering what else there was that maybe i dont know about? i know how to get really raw honey (the solid stuff, right?) and have learned about raw nut butters being the ones that say "raw" and are kept in the fridge..was wondering about untoasted nori? or coconut? or raisins? basically just organic dried fruit in general..or anything else you can think ok!

Hey there. Alissa sells raw oat flakes in her store. As far as you not knowing what is and what isn't, either use the banana up top and do a search, or ask. Someone will pop in and answer. I have even called from my local HFS to a company's phone number on the back of a product and inquired about it truly being raw. OR e-mail companies. For instance, where I get my nuts? Their fruits are heat dried. My rule of thumb? If it doesn't say raw somewhere on the packing, actually in plain view, chances are it's not. But inquire to the company, they'll tell you.

YES !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aliss'as REALLY RAW oats are soft and yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as far as questonable raw things..........

any products you buy at the store -I would contact their CS dept and inquire. There a "raw" bars out there that don't entirely qualify to 100% raw foodists.

Cashews are another one too.

Figs (almost all except if you find ones that are not)are heated at high temp b/c they mold easily

Alissa sells raw nori ,cocnut oil etc. You're safest bet is to purchase her items as she obviosuly hand picks what is raw qualified.

Her coconut butter is the best!

i guess more what i meant was, some things do say "raw" that i have come to find out werent. so i'd buy them and later find out they werent raw after all. like "raw" cashews or "raw" honey, or "raw" nut butters y'know?

A basic test: If the stuff won't GROW....not even in theory....then it aint as vital as fresh raw plant food or sprouts. Just my opinion.
