I am only 2 weeks raw this time, but same as last time, I feel so WEAK when trying to exercise, and am needing a lot of sleep, at least 8 hours. I am chalking this up to detox, and believe my energy will come back. It's hard because I so wish I could workout, but it feels like my body wants it's energy for healing.

Just wondering if any long term raw folks experienced this when they first went raw, and if so, what do you think causes it, and when did you get your strength back?

love to hear from you, thanks!

Hey there! I did not experience this. Quite the opposite. The very next day I was energized and it has not stopped. BUT, I was Vegan two years prior to going raw almost 9 months ago and Vegetarian for 26 years, so...my system did not detox like most SAD eaters transitioning into raw.
You've only been raw two weeks. This is not unusual, I don't feel. Maybe don't work out until you DO regain some energy. Let your body detox. Drink loads of water to help flush out the garbage.
Good luck!

thanks for the reminder to drink more water! That's one thing I've experienced on raw, that I am hardly ever thirsty for water, but I probably should be drinking it to help the detox process. That was great to hear.

Yes, I'll hang in there. I really do intuitively feel that I am just detoxing and eventually my energy will come back....thanks for responding!

been there for sure...I have been raw for a year and 1/2 and am an avid runner...When I first went raw I went through a few weeks of heavy detox and tiredness but prevailed and then just suddenly woke up one morning re-vitalized! I still go through slumps when I let myself get too run down...I tend to overdo it:rolleyes: but sleep always helps + extra water! Good luck!

I exercise atleast 3 hours a day, between walking, aerobics, and having to ride my bike to work and town.

When I first went raw, I was extremely tired as well. I had been a vegetarian before hand, but went cold turkey vegan-raw AND gave up coffee at the same time.

I live in a very hot climate without air-con so that always wears me out as well.

The weather is again heating up quickly and I find myself wanting to lay down around 3-4 when I get home from teaching. But if I take a little cat nap, I often wake up worse off than before I fell asleep.

Give it some time, your energy level will catch up to you soon enough...:D
