Hey are most seaweed salads all raw?

Most likely not. Most seaweed is toasted or boiled for a bit to get that bright green color. Thats how I used to cook mine. Now I just let them soak, and though they don't turn bright green, they're still tastey! :D

You can always the place you're gettin it from though. Ask them how they prep their seaweed.

I'm not sure, but most all of the seaweed recipes I've encountered have only called for soaking the seaweed before using. I tried cooking some once, and it left it mushy.

The best seaweed I ever had was not dried.... it came fresh packed in salt. Yum yum!! I have been looking for it again for the last 9 years. The only place I've ever found it was a little bittly Asian market in Surfside, SC.
