LOL I have a couple things left in the house to get rid of before I start back at Raw Food Boot Camp next week. My 3 year old daughter, when she saw me heating up the last microwavable dinner I have, said "No Mommy! You eat SAWAD!" (salad)

LOL She had me cracking up, and as it was, it ended up that I accidentally cooked it too long and couldn't eat it anyways so I did eat a salad for dinner.

lol. I love the way kids express themselves. Last summer I was eating a lot of salads for lunches. The girls I nanny for saw their mom making a salad for lunch and looked at me and then back to her and asked their mom if she got permission from me to eat my salad. Evidentally they associate salad greens with me! :p

My six year old daughter (youngest of 3) always looks at my food and says, "Is that good for you?", then she'll ask about other foods...."are french fries good for you"...."is brocolli good for you" everytime she eats something! She is much more aware than my boys are (they are 11 and 9) but they are watching also, but you know, boys tend to mimick their dad....girls their mom. This makes me mad because DH's diet is soooo poor. I've expressed this to him, that the boys watch him, but he's scared of change. Anyway, didn't mean to hijack this thread. Kids are much more aware than we give them credit for!!

Awww, that's cute.
My grandkids are asking me about processed "stuff" like "Hey Nana, are you allowed to have...???"
The one that sticks out in my mind is toothpaste!

My daughters did raw with me the first 3 days. They are 5 and 3. They did very well! After my husband quit and took them to Burger King, they always ask me if what I am eating is cooked or not. My 3 year old has decided that she doesn't like cooked food, while my 5 year old has said that she doesn't like "healthy food", referring to anything not cooked. Haha. They are so funny. They talk about health and food as much as I do now.

"Eat your spaghetti." I aggrevatedly command my children, while I myself am eating a spinach and guacamole salad.
"I don't want spaghetti, I just want a tomato." Says the 3 year old.
"Are tomatoes cooked?" Asks the 5 year old. "I don't want a tomato. I don't like healthy food." But of course, she doesn't eat her spaghetti either. She wants a quesadilla.

I totally had that thought about toothpaste! Since I stick processed toothpase in my mouth everyday and then spit it out, what is stopping me from doing the same thing with cheese, desserts and other yummy cooked foods? Haha. I wouldn't do it because I wouldn't spit it out, and because it just seems stupid.

Sigh. I just got a job at a restaurant and turned down chocolate covered strawberries, cheese pate plate and other things the servers were nibbling on. Haha.

Oh the restaurant is my biggest struggle. My DH and I own a 50's diner and when I am there...the smell of cooked bacon smells so good! I have to take lots of my good uncooked foods to lower the temptation...It can get difficult! But when I don't cave in...it feels so good!

By the way....your daughter is very observant. Just proves that kids watch what we eat. We are a living example for them. Very cute!
