Is brown rice syrup raw? I have a regular recipe that I am trying to make raw. I don't think it's raw. Does anyone have any suggestion of what to substitute with that would give the same flavor (maybe just honey, but I know it will have a different taste). This is for an asian dish.

What about raw agave nectar? I am pretty positive that brown rice syrup is not raw.

Yep! Raw agave nectar is much lighter in flavor and also thinner (easier to mix into recipes). I really like it for recipes that don't need the heavy sweetness of honey. :)

No, brown rice syrup is boiled quite a bit. As I recall, it was quite good.

Best,
