Hi...my name is Ally, and I've been researching raw foods for about six months. AFter much research, I feel like it's the path I need to take...
I have two small children... I live in Indiana...I am a teacher and have been married for five years. I look forward to getting to know you mamas (and papas?)
So there has to be a thread on here somewhere about tips to getting started right?
Thanks in advance..and thanks to Amy for leading me here as well!!

Depending on what kind of person you are dive right in OR take your time!
Definetely get Living on Live Food by Alissa Cohen and start making as many of her recipes as possible - they are great! Maybe start with a goal of having a green smoothie every morning, at least one salad and apples for a snack every day. Do what works for you and your schedule, don't be hard on yourself and trust in the process.
LOTS of great info and supprt and recipes and friends here.
Do some searches with the banana and jump on in!
Good luck and let us know if we can help.

I read the current monthly thread....this month is the "February Challenge" and make my menu by looking at all the delicious things others are eating. Also, I second the Alissa book recommendation. Many of her recipes are both easy and out of this world.
You can do as much or as little raw as you like, depending on your willpower and how you feel. I've been high raw for awhile now, sometimes near 100% and sometimes only about 50%. (I feel much, much better toward the higher end of raw and begin to feel sluggish and old when I up my intake of cooked food.) Just strive to do the very best you can and, if you do "cheat" endeavor to cheat on the "healthy" end of cooked food (like steamed veggies or brown rice instead of pizza!)
Good luck on your raw journey!

If you go to the homepage there's a section labeled: "Need to Know More About Raw?" That should help you out.
Also there's this: http://www.rawfoodtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?p=243267&posted=1#post243267.
