Hi. I already shared a little of my experience in my intro thread on the "Who Are you" part of the forum, but I left out a few things I would like to share here.
Not only am I doing the raw eating with my eight year old daughter, but my mom and litttle sister are also doing it--and they just shared some of their success with me. And I would like to also pass it on. I am always motivated by the success of others, so I hope this can help motivate someone here.
So here is our success with raw eating for a month...and less.
My success:
After four weeks:
I have lost 10 pounds.
I no longer have arthritis pain in my fingers.
I no longer have that "mystery pain" in my abdomen that was really starting to frighten me.
I feel lighter.
I feel more alive.
I have found I really enjoy outdoor exercise.
I have lost my cravings for sugar and other junk food.
My skin looks more youthful and clear.
My eight year old daughter's success:
After three weeks:
Lost over two inches off her waist.
Looks noticably thinner.
Can wear jeans that she had outgrown and we never thought she would be wearing again.
My Mom's Success:
After three weeks:
Arthritis not painful.
Dry eye somewhat aleviated.
Lost 12 pounds
Much more energy running up and down the stairs.
My younger Sister's Success:
After one week:
Lost 12 pounds!
Can wear jeans that didn't used to fit.
Still detoxing...so "feeling good" is still yet to come.
It has been so wonderful to have so many family members on board with this. We talk on the phone at least once a day to share ideas or triumphs.
We all just felt it was time for something like this. All of us are at least somewhat overweight. And my sister had been having some health issues that really needed to be addressed. We have tried over the years to be health conscious and have carefully taken our supplements without realizing that we were missing the big picture.
Another big factor is my older sister had breast cancer and went though chemo a couple of years ago. So "cancer" is always on our minds. I would love to get her to try this way of eating. But right before we got started with this, she started Body for Life and is feeling really good about her success with that. But maybe when she finishes her Challenge, she will want to look into what the rest of us are doing. I hope!
Since starting this my fear of cancer has gone away. That alone has been worth everything.
