Well... Time for a FAST!!!
I need to detox and get it down now. I need some HEALIN' baby. I'm doing mostly great on all raw but I keep hindering detox with freakin meatballs and stew (twice now in the last three weeks).
I need to heal:
Acne (have only had this since raw ... must be PART of detox)
working on eating disorder ... would now consider myself recovered.... but always working on it
I'm sure there is plenty of internal tweaking that needs to take place. Especially with my ED background. I have caused some detrimental damage to my body over the years and it NEEDS to heal and I NEED to let it.

SO... here we go. Heal, finally.

Well healing will definitly take place w/juice fasting. The longer the fast, the more healing takes place. 5-7 days to detox, and around 30 to heal. Im doin 40. day 10 now

Congrats! 10 days is a huge accomplishment. I admire you for going for 40... perhaps I will be on day 30 when you hit 40!
What changes have you noticed so far?

I forgot to mention that I am also looking for spiritual healing as well. I see myself on this Siddhartha -esqe path right now. Looking for enlightenment in all areas of life. Maybe, though, in the end I wont have to come back to love... I don't plan on ever forgetting that love is the core and root of all good.

Hey guys. Juice fasts are awesome. I just finished a 5 day one last week. Its hard though cause you have to run to the bathroom alot. I'm starting to prefer a raw vegetable fast. It's much easier on the body, especially since I have a high metabolism. And as I'm reading more about them I'm starting to think they are much more beneficial. I know that the raw-vegetable fast is much better for my acne than the juice fast.

I'm gonna do the 3-day fast mentioned in this article again. I did it last month and it worked amazingly.

Good, good, good. You can do it! :D
Changes I have experienced so far is alot of detox symptoms, But pleasant changes are more energy, clear minded now, no depression or anxiety, I need less sleep, my blood sugar is normal finally, and I have lost 13 pds.
Spiritually, I am just drawing closer to my Lord Jesus.

Hi! :) Yes juice fasts are awsome! I did not run to the bathroom alot though. At first I went a little more frequently as my body was eliminating all the waste, but then I leveled off. Juice fasting is more beneficial in the fact that when you are juice fasting you are getting all the nutrients you need to feed and heal your body, while giving your digestive tract a much needed rest so the body can concetrate on healing itself. As to eating, eating causes the body to work hard and it has no time, or less time to fully concetrate on healing, its distracted so to say. To fast the way you are saying does bring healing, but it takes longer. Your organs need a rest. But no matter what fast you choose it must be one that you can do and is for you, so no matter which one you choose you will reap good benefits, and I know you will be successful!!! :D

Hi michelle allene,

The issue that I have with fruit fasts is that fruits contain higher levels of sugar than vegetables. And while they do also contain higher levels of vitamins, they also affect your body's pH level. Not so much in a negative way but rather just that it is far less neutralising than an all vegetable diet. In addition, so long as you chew enough (and most people don't) vegetables are extremely easy to digest, particularly because they are majority water like most living things, and also because they have the highest level of insoluble fiber than any other food. (not to confuse this with soluble fibre from wheat products).

In saying that, it is DEFINITELY harder to go on an all-raw-vege diet because the body needs protein, iron etc which is not found in large amounts in raw vegetables. On top of that, if you have a high metabolism or a sweet tooth, vegetables will not be enough to satisfy you. Those are the areas where fruit-juice fasts are the better choice.

I think what I might do next is try a combination. It definitely won't hurt to stuff my body with raw veges and fruit juices lol!

Hey gcleanth :)

Hope you are doing well. I can understand your issues. I was talking about veggie juice fasts , not fruit juices. I am type 2 diab. and cannot juice fruit as of now. being diabetic I have an extreeeem sweet tooth. The sweetness of carrots and beets satisfies that craving, also adding a sliver of ginger to your juice will kill the cravings for sweets and carbs. Not enough protien in vegs. is a myth. You must eat enough of the right ones. You can easily screw yourself up on a vegeterian diet if you dont eat a wide viriety of all the vegs. etc...to make sure you are getting all your vitamins. Any thing that is put into the body and chewed no matter how much or thoroughly you chew it , the body has to work, meaning do what it has to do, to digest it. It must be digested, broke down and soforth. When you juice fast, the juice bypasses thet process and is immediatly assiumulated. Thusfore giving your bodys digestive organs a rest and break to heal itself and then the body can concetrate on healing itself quicker. Fruit juices are the cleansers and veg. juices are the healers. Not my words, but, every text books on the subject that I have seen and or read . But as I said before No matter what fast or how you choose to fast, or whats easier for you, You will reap good benifits ,and here to support you. This is my first40 day veg. juice fast straight out of SAD diet, I am, and have had, no problems, all positive and healing experiences, and quickly at that!! Which is good for me, my health was in an extreemly bad state, totally out of control diab. I wish I had a fast matabolism. I was beginning to think that I didnt even have one at all, lol!!! ;) After I finish this fast, I will start eating alll raw, heh, I say that now, but I will eat as much raw as I can, 90%-100%. I pray that I can go all raw and stay all raw! :p Congrats on your 5 day fast!!I am on day 13. Sometimes I almost feel overwhelmed when I think 40 days, but I just think about and picture the end results and take one day at a time. I dont work, I am a stay at home mom , I wonder how I would be doing if I had a job to go to and was doin this!?! It would probably be hard for me. I applaud anyone who fasts, but to work and stick to a fast, my hats off to ya'll! Be blessed and have a great day!! :D

It almost seems impossible to survive on juice alone! Really, do you have to lock yourself in a room with padded walls or what?

I, who am a complete carb and junk food addict, with 3 teenage food hounds and a meat and potato man, had no problem. I just made sure that I juiced reg. hours and drank plenty of water ( helped me stay feeling full). I admit when I smelled food for the first few days, I Almost had to say, "hold me back kiddos", a couple of times, but when I started goin thru all the detox I decided that I did'nt want to go thru THAT again! I feel great now, clear headed, alive, I did'nt realize how bad I felt before until I felt better.?. Understand? You will love and thank yourself ;) Love and support to you! :)
P.S: Try adding a 1/4 inch sliver of ginger root to your juice, when juicing your vegs, fruit. It will kill any carb. and sugar craving you may have. It really works :D
