I haven't posted in a long while, but I have been following the conversations. This forum is very supportive.

My question is about adding more raw to your diet and transitioning.

I understand for people eating 100% raw (or close to it) will sometimes just have a bunch of fruit or something similar. If I am still eating cooked - vegetarian and mostly healthy - would it be healthy for me to maybe sometimes have a mono meal like that. I guess what I'm asking is can I be raw for part of the day and do okay. I understand that it may not help me to get 100%, but wouldn't it be better than nothing?

My life is very hectic, and I need as much energy as possible. I feel I will be raw sometime, but I don't think I can do it while I'm stressed. Don't you feel that if someone is going through a tough time that they shouldn't try such a major change?

Thanks

That's really up to you to decide. I started raw right before my wedding...which was out of state, and then two months later I moved...out of state. Even though it was a hectic time for me I was ready to make the transition. Did I stay 100% raw the whole time-nope! But I had the drive to keep going back. For the first time in my life I had control over my eating.

Everyone's journey is different. For some people it only takes a day to do raw, and for others it takes years. Take it one day at a time. It should be a positive experience because if you feel forced you will not want to do it.

Many people transition by eating raw all day and have a light cooked meal at night...eventually the raw sneaks in more and more when you're ready.

Can you make it a goal to do transition days during the week and more mono or raw on the weekends, for example?

Trust me when I say that if you do any raw your stress levels WILL go down. You will be able to cope better and sleep better. :) :) :)

Fruit is great but don't forget to balance with greens and fats/nuts.

Of course. You'll have to set your own goals - and do your best to keep them. :) If it turns out that YOU feel that eating a higher percentage of raw would be good for YOU....but you are accepting second best........then you'll have to ask yourself why you are ok with accepting second best! LOL. Either way, you'll have all of my support.
