hey anyone ever blender juiced oranges? are they supposed to be kinda bitter? I can only assume it must be from all the skin on the orange right? have i totally messed up this stuff? i'm still drinking it lol but it's definitly kinda odd ... coffeesquirrel

I am assuming that you did take the actual peel off, ..right?!?!

Did it have seeds in it? Did you remove them first? Also, you mentioned skin...did you leave the skin on? If so, you'll definitely want to remove that as it's truly bitter.
I know that the first time I tried to juice oranges in my Champion, it was ex-TREEM-ly bitter!! But I didn't bother removing the seeds and I think that was the problem. I've since done it with no seeds or with seedless oranges and it's fine now.
I have done it in the blender too and it wasn't bitter, but again, no seeds and no skin!

I do this frequently. It's much quicker than dragging out the juicer and I like it kinda of pulpy. However, I use the (mostly) seedless navel oranges and I kinda feel through them to catch any stray seeds. I often will add a splash of vanilla and some ice, too. I drank this a LOT when I was sick a couple weeks ago. I've never found it to be bitter, though. So, not sure what happened in your case.
However, I did make it the other day without the ice and didn't like it quite as much. Hmmm...

lol :p of course i peeled it and i checked for seeds and did'nt find any so i just chucked the whole thing in the blender .. hmm the vanilla sounds good. and since i froze most of this i'm thinking this will be awesome. maybe i need to be more careful about the white skin (i got most of it off but as i was soing a case of oranges i prob got a little careless) and i will definitly be more seed wise next time :) good to know i'm not the only one who tried this.

Try to leave as much of the white stuff on as possible since that is where most of your nutrients are coming from. I like to send my oranges through the juicer. The white stuff makes it taste just like an "orange julius". It's so good! I have never put the entire orange in the blender as I am not real into the whole "pulp" thing. I much prefer smooth juice. Try it through the juicer one time and see if you like it. I put them in my breville because citrus seems to clog up my omega!
