I don't have a blender/liquidizer yet, but I do have a masticting juicer that claims it can handle greens - even wheatgrass. I haven't tried it with those yet, so we'll see...

I'm currently on a water fast. It's my first, so I'm sticking to something I think should be managable - just 7 days. However, a lot of the articles and posts I've read on water fasting recommend that I try a green juice as the first thing I eat when I've finished my fast (wow, it feels good to type that... 'finished my fast'... and this is only Day 2).

Could anyone tell me what should go into a green juice? I guess it should be leafy greens, in some proportion, but do things like cucumber count? What, if anything, should I use to sweeten the juice? It doesn't sound like the most appetizing thing in the world, but loads of people seem to rave about them!

Even as I feel at the moment, not even half way through, solid foods aren't on my agenda, so I think it would be a good idea to have one to restart my digestive system... In 5 days time...

My understanding has been juice apples and carrots for the sweeter juice...and just throw in spinach and romaine lettuce leaves. A tip I've seen either here or in books, roll the spinach leaves into a ball inside the romaine lettuce leaves, and refrigerate (overnight?) then shove them into the juicer. If you have a juicer like mine (in other words, not the Omega 8003/8005) you need to alternate the leafy greens between the apples and carrots so you don't ruin the juicer.

Thank you very much :) I'll follow those tips and, hopefully, my juicer should be able to handle it. I can't seem to find anyone who has the same one, which isn't very reassuring, but I'm in Britain, and it's a British juicer, so there aren't as many people to ask on raw food forums and not many people I know own one at all. Or else, it's just rubbish and no one wants it, lol. I hope it'll manage the leaves... Everyone seems to think green juices are really important.

Thanks again.
