Storing Foods

I am wondering how I should store my raw nuts. I've heard some people do it in the fridge, some don't, heard someone say they freeze them? I just don't want them to go rancid. Thanks :D

I have a cupboard on the outside wall of my apartment. It's dark and very cool in there. I keep them in glass jars in the cupboard. They don't get rancid.

I have frozen them with no damage................or at least keep them in the Fridge or a cool place as Ro says.....
