Has anyone created the Chocolate Turtles's recipe? How does it taste?

I made it for a raw potluck once and the plate was left bare. And that was even with the carob. I made it for myself with real cacao, even BETTER!! Every time I opened the dehydrator to check on them, I'd take some, so they got checked on a lot =)

Do you have Alissa's book?
Also, there is a banana up top where you can search for recipes and such. :)

Are we allowed to reprint recipes from the book? I wouldn't want to get in trouble.

Eleanor, did you use Alissa's recipe? When I used it, my turtles never got "hard"? They were real gooey. Any tips?
Merfie, I can't wait for you to get Alissa's book....it's the BEST one I have...the other 2 I own collect dust! :D

I used the recipe except, after awhile in the dehydrator, they never did get hard as you say. So I gave up and refrigerated them determined to eat them anyway as they were. Then they hardened just fine in the fridge. Another time I used yacon as the sweetener and it worked even better for the hardening effect.
Hope that helps =)

These are so good!!

Yes, they harden in the fridge.

What I do is spread some coconut oil on the teflex sheets before putting the turtles on it.

That way they come off easily.

My kids love these and they are so easy to make.

Oh, thanks for the tips! I think I read somewhere else too, that if you use a sweetner such as agave, it hardens better...honey never really hardens. I'm giving that a try. Tahnks for the tip about the coconut oil on the texflex!!
