Hi there,
I'm Amy from Pacifica, Ca. I'm 44, work with teens in a middle school. I've been vegetarian since 1976 (30 years now) and vegan since 1999. And I'm FAT. I have always been fat. I'm not fattest vegan I know because I do know lots of fat vegans but I could EASILY stand to lose 25-30 pounds.

I did 30 days 80-90% RAW in the Summer of 2004 (not using Alissa's recipes) and lost 20 pounds which I gained right back plus more when I went back to cooked foods. I'm BUSY. I work full time and go to grad school.

I want and will do the 30 day challenge using Alissa's recipes in mid June of 2007 once I'm on my 2 month summer vacation and don't have to work or go to grad school. I'm hoping to find a buddy near me to team up with for the 30 days and give each other moral support!!

I have a vita-mix,a cuisinart and a dehydrator.

If you live close to San Francisc/Pacifica and want a raw buddy for the 30 days challenge, please get in touch with me.

Peace, love.
Amy

I am moving to the bay area in the fall when I start college at USF. It would be lovely to get in touch with you as I know very few people in the area...so attempting raw will be even more difficult. I am planning to start the 30 day challenge tomorrow, for the zillionth time.

Good luck!

I'm in Santa Rosa and I'm also doing the 30 day challenge. Well, my goal is to eat raw for the longterm and let's hope it's not a challenge! I would love to get together! Cafe Gratitude is opening their 4th restaurant in San Rafael in about a week. Contact me and I'll give you my number.

Welcome to RAW! I'm new too!

Hi Amy,

Welcome! :)

I lived in San Mateo for many years and just recently moved to the South Bay. If you ever need support, I can definitely be there for you. Please feel free to e-mail me. I've been raw for almost a year and love this life style. Hope to see you around.

Linda

Hello!
I am 44 also - can't believe it, but it's true. I am in full understanding on need the support for the 30-Day Challenge. I just made a life change over the weekend (after receiving Alissa's book and DVD) and went 100% RAW yesterday! I am so thrilled. I would love to provide support in anyway you or anyone needs it and can lend it! I go over to Pacifica (I love hiking along the coast there!) quite often. I am a part-time massage therapist and have a couple clients over there. I am doing the 30-Day Challenge for many reasons, but beyond the 30-Days, I plan to remain 100% RAW. My biggest challenge is that I travel for my full-time job 60-70% of the time. Yep, that means flying, airports, hotels, restaurants - places where I am not home and can not prepare my food! It is going to be difficult, but I am bound and determined to succeed. I just have to plan ahead. I need to lose weight (70lbs! yikes) and get my health and vitality back. I've been travelling for my job for one year and I feel I've aged 5 years in that one year time span. A raw diet can only be a good thing for me.
I bought a food processor, but still need to get a dehydrator and that cool saladacco spiral slicer, and eventually a juicer. Start this new RAW life is a bit of a financial comitment, but....oh, so good!
I'm here and trudging along. Made the Fettucini Alfredo and the Nut Torte last evening - absolutely YUM! My husband is not raw and does not plan to, but he said the Alfredo was quite addicting and kept eating forkful after forkful. Maybe I will get him in the raw groove!
We're going to Cafe Gratitude this weekend. I can't wait!
Stay positive - always.

Keep doing it until you get it Right, Soooooo Happy you are here. You WILL Succeed and WIN this war that you are in. Just take the time to prepare your food.

RAW will give you an Edge, it will put you at the head of your Class, you will have a Clear head to think better and retain More.

I say don't wait until June, start now...Just eat RAWSimple. Eat Fruit, Nuts and Salads and when your time is better you can spend more time in the kitchen. And later you might choose RAWsimple as your LifeStyle.

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.....Welcome to MY World.......
