Hello everyone :)
This is my 5th day 100% raw (yay) and so far, 90% of my diet is fruits.
I would like to incorporate more greens in my diet and i need some (any) suggestions on doing so.
I would like my diet to be 50% fruits / 50% greens
Does anyone have a diet of 80% (or more) of greens?

Green smoothies. Very easy to make. Take a banana. Stuff in lots of greens. Add water. Blend. Depending on what's in the smoothie, you might also want to add some sweetener, such as raw honey or agave.

Why so many greens? What is you reason for wanting to eat this ratio?
Do you mean 50% by calorie, by weight, by volume, or what? There's big difference.
Your body doesn't need 50% greens. Between 1/4-3 lbs daily is fine. Even less shouldn't hurt you. I eat almost only fruit.
Also, unless you are eating a TON, it's going to be really hard to get sufficient calories.
If you so end up doing this, be really careful to rotake your greens so you don't intake oxalic acid or goitergins (sp) to the point of dangerous levels. You ought to but only organic too, if you are going to be eating so many greens, as leafy green vegetables are VERY high in pesticide residues. :o

I don't exactly know why i picked those percentages, they do sound a bit out of proportion :p . I guess I would just like to substitute half of the fruits i eat with greens. I know a lot of raw vegans that mostly eat fruit, and they are fine, i know. I just think that I should eat SOME greens, I know I would if I was living naturally. How long have you been raw?
And I do get all organic, chemicals/pesticides really freak my mom (and me) out. Thanks for your input!
