Ahhh . . . I don't know. Often it takes awhile to know what it is. I know it is a full moon and I am watching the effects of it on others as well as myself. It really is pulling waters out of my body! I don't want to get into detail here but I had to document the problem in case I have a problem at work from having to go when I am not supposed to go!

Please make sure you don't get dehydrated - yes you can with too much diarreah...even if you're drinking lots. if you're only juicing, try adding some celery to your juices and perhaps some tomatoes. They have a lot of natural sodium and that may help you hold onto some fluids a little easier.

a soluble fiber drink, even an over the counter metamucil or something usually helps, and you don't even have to break your fast:)

With more severe detox....I would cut back...and not change your diet too radically. Regulate your own detox. This crisis will pass - and you will know to be more gradual with your changes next time. (just my opinion). Your kindness and love to your body will reap huge rewards - whatever that form takes.

I'm no doctor, but I suspect it IS detox. I had the same exact issue, on my 4th day. Yeah, pretty nasty, and rather painful, too...

You'll be happy to know that, while I'm still having some die-a-rear, it slowed significantly the second day, and is now almost gone. However, I've been eating solids, not on a juice fast.

You just jumped right in, head first and full blast, eh?

Are you just starting RAW? You began with a fast? Or have you been raw for a time, and this is day 7 of your first fast?

If this is your first time doing RAW, beginning with a fast such as this is not a good idea to begin with. What is your purpose for this fast, and were you advised to do it?

Best,

Yep....I always jump head first...

I was not advised to do it...just chosen after speaking with some people who have done it and who also have Lupus...like me....today i ate a banana and am feeling a bit better....still a little week....

I have been a vegetarian for 2 years....so the vegetable part has been easy....but no sugar has been a killer...I am making it though...

My reason....I was always a size 5 or 7....and I am 5 ft 6 in....even after having children....I just bounced right back...then I had a hysterectomy....and divorce all the same year....and got diagnosed with Lupus...needless to say, i packed on 125 pounds....I just got so depressed about everything that eating was my life....and i was pretty darn good at it....

So....in October (2006) I decided enough was enough....I want to feel good, and to look good....and went from 260 to 207 by January 2007...exercising and eating healthy....still lupus symptoms were bad....researched raw eating....and decided it was for me....here I am...I don't think the juicing was easy....so I am doing just raw and solid...this morning i was at 199....and happy....because my scale has been over 200 for over 6 years....my 40th birthday in November I plan on being lean and healthy....

ready2live, I'm glad you're jumping in, that's good; but you should not start with a fast, in my opinion.
I think you would fare better if you just began eating raw foods, whatever feels and tastes good to you.

I would put a strong emphasis on green smoothies for flooding your body with high nutrients and healing, perhaps 2 a day. Make them big with as much greens as you can take (if you have to start low on the greens, add them as you go - that's fine - just increase gradually). Make them tasty and delicious with fruit you like to make them palatable to your taste, using various fruits. This will keep them interesting.

Best,

Thanks Jaurequi!!! I agree....I am taking that advice too....I ate a banana yesterday and it helped....and this morning too....I actually feel better today....just a little headache...but my body is used to tons of sugar....so I figure this is normal and will let it run its course....

Have a happy day......everyone!!!

Yes yes yes. I was surprised at the runny tummy I got and couldn't figure it out till I realised (and someone on this board told me) it was detox. It WILL settle down. It wasn't pleasant though. I am a big gym-a-holic and running really makes things run through you so I was in and out of the bathroom a lot.

I have read many people here start into raw with a fast first.

I didn't. But I am now on a fast (three days green drink, 10 days mastercleanse and then maybe a liver cleanse for two days and a three day water fast but we'll see about the last bits) because the detox effects were so good, I want to experience pure detox. I would go in slower if I were you. Go raw for a month first.

But I was a faster even before going raw. Nothing wrong with a fast.
