Hey everyone, I LOVE my herbal teas ~ am wondering what ya'll think about herb tea as long as it is organic, natural dried teas and the water is not above 105 degrees. I've learned my dehydrator is GREAT for making homemade herb tea and I'm SO excited about that but don't want to be drinking much of it if it isn't good for me. It's just nice to have a nice warm cup when it's so cold. Thank you for your input. :)

I've never used a dehydrator for making tea. Hmm.. Interesting! I still brew my tea using a kettle over my gas stove. I don't recommend it because it is not raw. But thats what I still do. I am not 100% raw yet though :o

I make lots of herbal sun tea. I just put the herbs in a muslin bag and drop it into a gallon glass jar with room temp. water and stick it outside. I never really wondered if it was considered raw or not. I live in AZ, so in the summer the water gets pretty warm sitting in the sun. Hmmm.... I will have to check the temp. next time. I really won't give it up anyway, because I love herbal tea. :)

I studied this at the Optimum Health Institute. Sun tea is considered legal in raw dining so, wait for a sunny day.
Good luck,

green tea is an essential tool i use for quelling my appetite , and i also like other teas that i make with hot water even though their not considered raw . its what i term a good cheat , or a gamble im willing to take of it being health enhancing for my particular state . so i use it now with zero guilt because its only a simple / natural liquid and not a solid , and after ive fully adjusted to raw (which to me shall take several years) i'll omit it .

I love herbal tea. I do quite a lot of herbal medicine, so you can imagine why ;) Herbal tea is a part of my lifestyle and, seriously, a part of my spirituality.
Enjoy your tea, raw(sun) or cooked! It's good for you!
Does anyone know where we can buy organic, raw herbs for making sun tea? Also, any suggestions for types of herbs/fruit to use in the tea?
I am thinking I could put in dehydrated mint leaves, or perhaps dehydrated orange rinds. Any other ideas? I've never made sun tea before, so I'm not sure if the ingredients should be dehydrated or fresh. Suggestions?

Mountain Rose Herbs is where to get a great selection of organic herbs. I would email them and ask about drying temperatures - maybe sundried herbs.

I love herbal teas and the occassional green tea. I don't drink green tea everyday though, because of the caffeine I find it a bit too stimulating for me for everyday. We are all so different, so do what feels right for you.
