View Full Version : Peeling away SAD layers

I'm on day 7 of the raw 30 days. I feel great! Have had very little detoxing; just minor bouts of energy flux. When I looked in the mirror today I noticed that literally overnight, my face had changed. Where it was once puffier, my cheekbones were more prominent, my face more angular in general. I've also noticed that my morning workout is having more of a fast effect now; I'm seeing tone and muscle that wasn't there just a week ago.

I got to thinking about it. When we've been eating the SAD diet for years, or taking lots of antibiotics, meds, etc., as we slowly get our bodies back on track, we shed layers of our old habits. Does that make sense? It just seems that being raw puts me much more in tune with my body, and I thought I was pretty in tune from a lot of yoga and meditation! I feel like I'm shedding a lot of old skins and each time there's a shinier, healthier me underneath!! :)

VERY cool beans! I'm proud of you!
You haven't seen anything yet. The best is yet to come!
And yes, it all makes sense what you are seeing and saying!
Good job!

Thanks, VeganforLife!!!!

The support here is invaluable. Just being able to have other raw people around who understand make the journey that much easier. :)

with everything. I've been raw for almost five months, and yesterday??? I had this huge "aha moment". I'm still so floored by it. Talk about shedding layers and "seeing" patterned thinking. Sometimes you DO have to go back to old ways to actually "see" where the growth is. You are not your mind. Have fun and wish you great success.

That sounds like a great way of putting a change. I can hardly wait as I am on day 1 right now :D

When I read this, it made so much sense to me. Last year, I went 100% raw from one day to the next and within 6 weeks I had transformed. I cannot explain the changes, many of them were external, but so many more were internal (inside my physical body). None of them were in my head, which explains why I didn't stick with it. I went back to my "old" habits and felt so bad about it, but just let those old ways bury me again. Recently, I had my "Aha Moment", it was the proverbial light bulb going on in my head. I have made my emotional discoveries and the raw food lifestyle is the icing on the cake, so to speak. I think that never giving up is the answer. We may backslide or have moments of indecision, but just NEVER give up, keep the goal in sight and move forward towards it. Thats my plan, anyway...I look forward to hearing all of yours. I will now return this thread to it's original owner :o .

Namaste,
