I live in the South Bay Area and there are tapioca drink shops on every corner. My favorite is an avocado smoothie (without the tapioca). I know it sounds weird but it is really good. Since going raw I missed the smooth tastin smoothie until I managed to come up with a recipe

½ avocado
1 1/2 cup of almond milk
½ frozen banana (optional)
1 to 2 squirts of agave

Blend all ingredients in a blender. Enjoy!!!. (2 servings)

That sounds good. I dislike the taste of avo's because they are bitter and sour and a little tasteless. It's almost like I have a cold.. It doesn't have much flavour. Maybe that is why it mixes so well with other things. I totally crave the smoothness of avo though! It's the smoothest thing in the world! :D

Oh yum! I absolutely love avos. They taste like butter to me. I'm gonna try these smoothies. Cool beans! Thanks :D

Avo's are the best ever and so many fabulous recipes. Just had a soup for lunch of blended water, maca, avo, mango, buckwheat and baby leaf spinach and it was absolutely delicious. I feel sorry for those that are denying themselves this incredibly nutritous and tasty fruit purely because of the misconceptions that still seem to surround it.

Trinity... are you sure your avocados were ripe? When not ripe they aren't the best but a good ripe avo is mmmmmmmm!

I like the little hass avocados. They have a GREAT shelf life compared to those HUGE avos... I stopped buying those, they would go bad so fast. You know that an avo is really ripe when the seed comes right out. When I first started eating hass avos I *thought* they were ripe because they were purple/black on the outside and gave in to the touch but when opened, the pit was really hard to remove. One week I bought a bunch of them and didn't eat them right away so they were really quite soft and I thought they would be bad. When I opened them they were beyond dreamy. They were absolutely perfect. The pit came right out and they were so yummy!

They are the best when you can take of the entire skin in one go with your hands!! :D

YES! I've gotten quite good at that. That always amazes folks! Funny, huh?
Now, can you open the very top of a banana, then grab it almost to the bottom, squeeze hard and out pops the banana? Like in the cartoons?

I don't like the taste of avocados, either... they taste like grease to me, blech.

I even find them hard to eat when mixed with other stuff, it adds that heavy greasy kind of flavor that I dislike.

That's interesting because we call the area I live in (around Los Angeles International Airport) the South Bay too.
