Hello does anyone own this blender. I think it looks well built. But before I buy it I would like to have opinions.
http://www.mypowerjuicer.com/juicer_hm100.html
It has 2 horse power motor, and powerful 1400-watt motor. Does anyone know how many horse power the vitamix has. Also looking for a blender does it matter on horse power and watt, also RPM.

yes watt/horsepower matter gigantically , the cheap ones have around 500 . and the vitamix i believe has 1000 . the only other one i heard at 1400 watt is that raved about blendtec blender . so 1400 is powerful . search blenders for a bunch of threads .

another thing thats important is warranty .

wow i just went to site and it has a 100 year motor warranty , thats pretty good ;) :D . 100 years at $150 + 1400 watt gives this great potential .

but ide research alot . google healthmaster blenders or healthmaster blender reveiw .

just wanted to add that ive been reading on blenders a year and have seen a good number of people say the leequip blender at aroung 130 bucks and 900 watts is a very good buy , well made / sturdt but just a bit less power than the vitamix . plus you can go to their site and find retailers in your area so you can go look at it .

That looks just like the Vitamix. I'm willing to bet they made one just for Jack LaLanne, they both have 2 horsepower motors.

I didn't notice the blender capacity though.

It looks like a good deal.

He has a juicer that I believe Breville makes for him. It is a very similar model.

It is fun looking at all his photos. Hard to believe he's only 90 - looking good Jack!

Thank you all for your replys. I plan on buying the Healthmaster 100 next month, so I will post a follow up. Also what is a good RPM? And does RPM matter also? THanks again. :o

Vitamix
The motor is an open frame brush universal with a 2 peak motor horsepower rating, 120 volts, 60 hz, 11.5 amps, 1380 watts.

Healthmaster 100

8 Variable Speed Motor
• Runs Up To 2 Horse Power
Over 1400 Watts of Power

Sounds almost the same to me. Looks the same too. I think I will order it.

Hi jorjeni please tell us how you like it. Also I think it is the same company that makes Vitamix, I believe it is Tribest made. I have a Solo Star 1 juicer I like very much. Please keep us informed.:)

I would be interested to hear from anyone who has this particular blender as well. It sounds like a good one, but the "generates its own heat" statement bothers me a bit. Any comments?

I just ordered this Saturday - total with warranty and shipping was $199.96. Will let you guys know how much I like it!

I think that there is a setting to make it heat up.

Ah, so. I'll be anxiously awaiting your "review." I'm torn between this one, the L'equip, and one by Krups. I just can't ante up $300+ for the uber blender, VM or K-Tec. Nope, just can't do it. I already went head over heels and bought an Excalibur and an Omega and turned around and sold them both. If I'm gonna do this raw thing, I gotta keep it simple and as economical as possible.

Again, please keep us posted. Thanks.

I agree with you, adiamond!! I, too, will be waiting for the responses from jorjeni and rozy. I can't wait!

adiamond if you don't mind me asking what didn't you like abou the omega and what model did you have? I was considering getting it but in the past I just had juicers such as the jack lalanne juicer and WAY back the juiceman juicer before I new better. Well I too will be waiting for the reviews on the new jack lalanne blender!!

Well, it wasn't that I didn't like it; in fact, I liked it very much. It was just that I had spent a large sum of money (that I really couldn't afford) in a very short period of time and felt that I had gotten in over my head and felt kinda of overwhelmed by it all. So I decided to sell the juicer and dehydrator and to start over a bit slower, more simply, and with some less costly appliances. I can "upgrade" later on if I feel the need.

jorjeni and rozy,

have you worked with the vitamix or blendtec/k-tec before so you can compare for us? I'd like to know if this is comparable.
It's almost too good a price! But at the same time, Jack Lalanne is so trustworthy, I wouldn't think he'd put out a poor product.

Well, I just made a blender decision. I ordered the L'equip, after I finally got to see one "in person" at Wild Oats today, and it didn't look quite so "outer space" as I thought it would. The price at Wild Oats, however, was $169, and I knew I could find a better deal on line. So I came home, jumped on the net, and scored a pretty good deal (at least I think so) at LivingRight.com (am I allowed to post that?). It was on already on sale for $134.95, plus a $15 instant rebate available, plus free s/h, so got that puppy for $119.95.

From all I've read, and the reviews are admittedly mixed, as they are on most items, KT and VM included, this is a good one to start with, so far as "high speed" blenders go. And if it's not all that and a t-shirt, at least I'm not out $300-400, absolutely no offence to the owners/lovers of those particular blenders, just way outta my range at this time. I was tempted by the JL Health Master, but it's just so new on the market, not "tried and true," no track record so to speak, for the price. Course, that's just my opinion, and we all have one of those, right!

Anywho, I just thought I'd share about the "deal" at living right, in case anyone else was considering this particular blender.

I'll post back after I've gotten it and put it through its paces, if anyone wants to know.

I have not tried a VM or any other blender that is anywhere near it. I have a $30 one from walmart. I am willing to bet that it is the same machine.

Anyway someone mentioned that it grenerates it own heat. That depends on what setting you have it on. That is why you can also make ice smoothies with it and not melt the ice.

I am gonna have to wait a little bit on getting this I decided to spend my money on getting colonics I am going on my 3rd one on Thursday.

I am hoping to have this this week. I do not have experience with a vitamix but someone at a Yahoo group I frequent said that it looks just like the Vitamix and she has had it for a month and loves it - her smoothies get silky smooth and she doesn't have to grind her flaxseeds anymore.

I will post back when I get mine.

Ok I got my blender last night. I was wrong there is no seperate switch to heat up the blender - you have to put hot water in with what you are blending and blend it on high for 8 mins for it to heat up.

I made my smoothie last night and wow it is definitely different for me - I have a cheapie blender and have to deal with chewing on my flaxseeds and the smoothie is more of a "grainy" LOL. This blender made everything smooth as silk and no flaxseeds to chew on anymore! It it extremely loud which I don't mind but my husband told me he wasn't amused because he couldn't hear his show ;)

It has a good recipe book with some good recipes (im not 100% raw keep that in mind)

Both me and my husband are impressed with it but we haven't ever had a expensive blender either to compare it to.

A quick note. So I got my L'Equip blender this afternoon, took it out of the box, washed it, and immediately set to making some hazelnut milk (I soaked the nuts overnight in anticipation of the blender arriving today). This is all I've made so far so obviously can't give a detailed review. The real reason I'm "writing" is, even though the blender works perfectly fine, the tachometer thingy doesn't work; the "speedometer" type needle never moves, and I wasn't even certain if it was supposed to or if it was just for looks. So I called the L'Equip warranty number, talked to a very nice gentleman who informed me that, yes, the tachometer thingy is supposed to work, it's not just for looks, and even though the blender works beautifully without said tachometer working, without hesitation, he assured me that they would be sendin me a brand new machine ASAP, along with a prepaid label for shipping the current machine to them, and I should feel free to use this one to my heart's content until the new one arrives.

I must say, I was totally impressed, especially since my somewhat limited past experience regarding so-called warranties was often more hassle than it was worth, most of them requiring the customer to pay to ship item to be repaired/replaced at their discretion, waiting sometimes weeks for the item to be returned/replaced, and one company even required that I also send money for them to pay to send item back to me ... can you believe that ... which I so didn't do and told them what I thought of that.

Anywho, I believe the machine is going to work out really well for me, but even more so the customer service, and that's worth a great deal in and of itself.

This wasn't actually a quick note, was it? My bad!

Thanks Rozy for the update. I glad you like it, I hope to get one in March. Have you tried any vegetables in it yet? What else have you tried with it?Thanks again

I have only made three green smoothies in it so far - first time I went to the recommended speed 8 and I had to drink it instead of using a spoon to eat it (which I like doing) - so the next two times I would only go up to 4 or 5 - the flaxseeds get ground up pretty good. I think tonight im going to put soymilk and flax in and grind it up good before I put in everything else.

Okay, who's winning this contest? How is the L'Equip? How is the Health Master? I am in the market for a new one.

OK, we need a new second blender for our office. Way back when we bought an old Vita-Mix 3600 from E-bay for $135. It has served us well for 2 years but needs to be replaced. We saw the Health Master 100 and were considering that solely but based on the feedback here, we'll be looking into the L'Equip too. I wish I would have seen this post a week ago because I just ordered a replacement carafe for my K-Tec and it would have been $15 cheaper at livingright.com.

Anyway, once we get our new blender I will post some feedback since I do have the K-Tec here at the house and will be able to tell how the cheaper blenders compare. BTW, I love my K-Tec but can not justify spending what it costs for a machine that will only be used about once every other day. The K-Tec was definitely worth it for the home though because it gets used at least twice a day

Any new reviews on the Healthmaster blender? I want to get one but just wondering how it compares to the vitamix, seems almost like the same blender. Thanks everyone!

OK so we finally got the L'Equip and it definitely does a better job than our old Vita-Mix (3600) was doing on the green smoothies, plus it is alot quieter. However, the tachometer is broken so I'll be calling customer service tomorrow.

Mom of 4, FYI - the warranty on the HealthMaster is virtually non-existent. That was the deal breaker for us since it's almost $200 for the machine.

If someone only has at most $200.00 to spend on a good blender, which one would be the best bang for the buck? I have been torn between the health master 100 with the 100 year waranty or the L'Equip blender. Is there anyone that has experience with both and liked one better than the other? Any assistance in helping me make this decision would be greatly appreciated.

It has 2 horse power motor, and powerful 1400-watt motor. Does anyone know how many horse power the vitamix has. Also looking for a blender does it matter on horse power and watt, also RPM.

Vitamix has a 2hp (1380 watt) variable speed motor. The variable speed is the option that most systems don't have. The Vitamix is the Cadilac. The warranty is 7 yrs I think and the vitamix customer service is the best, very helpful. I have owned mine for a little over 3 mos. And have been using it almost every day. I make a fruit smoothie with protein powder and some type of fiber either psyllium husk or wheat grain powder for breakfast and a fruit/vegetable comb. for dinner and have lost 40lbs since i have been doing this. I feel the best I have in years. GET THE VITAMIX. Call your local COSTCO and find out when VITAMIX will be touring and get it there. ($50 less). Good Luck
