I'm going to go 100% raw from today Feb. 1- 10. For me, 30 days is too much at once. The most I've done is 11 days in October, and I have not been doing raw lately. So I'm aiming for 10 days. I figure it's small enough that it doesn't seem too hard.
Anyone want to join? I figure anytime anyone wants to aim for 10 days- any 10 days, join in. Even if you go off it and want to start again, it doesn't have to be Feb 1- 10. Any time, any month. I'm going to post here the next 10 days because it really helps me in keeping me accountable!

I'll join you. I haven't been 100% raw at all due to financial issues. Now that I'm getting Food Stamps, buying raw foods will be a LOT easier:D.
This morning, I had carrot/apple/kiwi/ginger juice. TO make it extra sweet, I added 2 kiwis and one large Granny Smith apple.

That sounds like a good goal to start with. I say, take 1 day at a time.
What was hard for you before? I don't find raw to be difficult. What did you find difficult? Was it cost? Availability of fruits? Recipe difficulty?
Best of luck for your 10 day mission! :)

I'll do it too.. and I was thinking this exact same thing this morning.. how I should maybe make smaller goals or smaller amount of days for my challenge. I thought 30 days would be a cinch but it seems I can only go 3 or 4 days and I slip with something SAD.. even if it's still healthy SAD food. or a tiny amount of it ... I want to be able to say I did such and such amount of days COMPLETELY raw.
I've been raw all day so far.. so I can join in! yay!

My biggest problem is hunger. Right now I'm starving. I really dislike vegetables, and most nuts, so I essentially just eat a couple of fruits- which gets a bit mundane. I'm not a big receipe person and I do just like simple foods, I just go too long without eating, then don't want to eat fruit :o
I was so tempted to quit (the first couple of days is sooo hard for me) and coming here and reading that others are joining has given me encouragment!!!!
Thanks!

what kind of vegetables are you eating? I'm finding that through raw eating, I'm discovering all kinds of new fruits and veggies that I never heard of before or just never know what to do with and they are so delicious! For me it's fun trying new things, experiencing new tastes and textures and consistencies..
maybe expand your veggie spectrum a little and you'll find something you really like! or make sauces or dips for them to enhance the flavors!
I hope everyone is doing well.. I'll admit that thursday night I had a bowl of cereal.. blah.. wednesday and thursday were just really bad days for me... I don't know why, I was just in this strange emotional state and reverting back to old ways of eating when I'm bored or just frustrated.. but I'm back on track today baby!
have a great raw weekend everyone!

I had that experience too. I would like to encourage you to give it time.
We are used to interpreting the lack of feeling the same way we feel after eating a heavier cooked meal as "hunger", and we are accustomed to eating as a response to no longer feeling that way. We've trained our body for YEARS that "this is what non-hunger" feels like, and we believe we're "hungry" when that feeling doesn't show up. It's learned behaviour, a habit.
Once my body settled down comfortably into raw, I was able to clearly distinguish the difference between being hungry and simply "not being filled from cooked".
They are different. And eventually, it will feel comfortable and light, and energizing. (It did for me anyway). And the feeling won't be an "I need to eat" feeling, but rather a good feeling.

Hey, at least you are back on track! Maybe even think of it as 5 days, then if you want, continue for another 5?
I really don't like any veggies :o
I'll eat cucumber, but I believe those are really fruits no?
Maybe after doing it for a while I will try new veggies, but I really don't like them now.
I did stay raw yesterday- thanks to everyone posting here! It was hard! But I did it!

would you mind telling me what your typical meals are for the day?
I used to think I could never do the salad thing cause the thought of just lettuce and carrots with dressing just sounded B O R I N G ...
but I knew that I really needed to up my salad and veggie intake (cause I LOVE fruit and could just live off that).. so today for lunch I made a HUGE spinach salad with apple slices, raisins, walnuts, and celery - then for the dressing I just mixed agave syrup with lemon juice and let me tell you it was DELICIOUS! I didn't think I could eat the whole thing cause it was so big but I did cause it was so yummy. Maybe that's going against some of the food combining rules (fruits should be eaten alone) but I find I like salads much better if I have a little fruit or nuts in there.. and that's ok by me. Maybe I'll try to use less and less fruit as I go... maybe you could do a salad with blueberries or strawberry slices in it with a sweeter dressing.. like the agave/lemon juice I did.
Just experiment a little (when you feel you are ready) and I agree with the above poster too... your taste buds will change over time.
