I don't know what it is about the evenings, but I'll be fine all day long. Once it hits dark (8 especially) I want to binge. Its pretty intense. I won't even be hungry, but I want to eat. I won't be craving anything specific, I just want that heavy, full feeling. And its cracked me almost every night. When that happens, I don't eat anything bad. Its just cooked (which to me isn't bad, raw is just better). I don't get it. I'm having a very hard time stopping it. And I really want to break this habit. It even came early tonight.
Has anyone ever had problems with this? How did you break it?
Please help me....

Binge on raw things, and I think you'll find it goes away. I know you think that "Raw is better, but cooked is okay," but I found that I quit binging in the mornings (that's my personal tough time) within the last 2 days!! by just going right on ahead and binging on smoothies, fruit, extra water, and RP's brownies (*blush*).

Thats the thing. I do binge on raw. I snack on nori, clementine oranges, navel oranges, avos, nori rolls, grape tomatoes. Till I really don't have any room and I feel uncomfortable. But the urge is still there.... and I find myself giving in. I eat the pasta, feel good at first, then a lil icky, way over stuffed, tired. But content. Haa haa. Its torturous!
And congrats on ending your binging. =]

Lara bars are your friend. Check your local health food store. They're raw, gluten-free, vegan, kosher, and a whole host of other good things. When I get that old craving for chocolate or the need to cram food down my gullet, I eat one of those. I actually just finished one called "Apple Pie." They're primarily dates and nuts. The apple pie one is dates, nuts, and apples. They're amazing.

maybe you could try doing something to get your mind off of it... if you truely aren't hungry... go for a walk, workout, read a book, go visit a friend, etc..etc...
I used to binge eat when I'd get home from work.. I'd just get in the habit of coming home and sitting on the couch with some food and watching tv... it was horrible and I knew I wasn't hungry...
but now when I get home I'll start preparing some raw food for later or the next days lunch or I'll work out or clean house or something else and I really don't feel the need to eat like I used to.
good luck!

I binged today! But... I don't feel bad because it is good for me. If I gotta do it - I might as well binge on things that are going to benefit me! I had 3 mini cinnamon rolls and two giant cookies... oh yeah and a hot cocoa. I'm PMSing. Nice huh? Oh... well it did the trick.
The nice thing about raw food is you digest it so quickly. Unlick cooked food that sits in your digestive system for days raw is in and out. You don't feel uncomfortably full for too long.
My tough time is the afternoon. If I keep busy I'm fine. But if not and there are cinnamon rolls and cookies around  lookout!!!!!! LOL
Just try to eat all raw and maybe the binging episodes will begin to dissapate.
I come from an eating disorder background and since I have been high raw the ED episodes are greatly diminished. Raw is amazing. It can work wonders if you just give it time!

Thank you all. I eat Larabars like its no ones business. I'm out right now though. They don't stop the "cravings" though. I tried that last night. Ate two and a few raw things... to no avail. I wish I could handle fruit in the eve. But Luna and Cassidy, thanks on the "getting my mind off" of it thing. That has worked in the past very well. I'll push it as close to bed time as possible and just go to sleep early. Haa haa. Its not fun. But that does work. I just need to remember that. Thank you! All of you.

Seriously, sometimes I have to go to bed early too! By the time I'm in bed all comfy with my book - I'm actually glad to be there! Speaking of bed time and good books... I think I'll do that now!
Good luck!
Feel free to contact me via e-mail if you would rather vent than binge! Sometimes that helps too.
