Okay, so day 6 is going great! However, I've encountered a problem. Or maybe it's NOT a problem! I need some input, please! I've made some of the recipes that include nuts and within 5 - 10 minutes of eating them, I feel so sick! Even the thought of them now makes me feel queasy! I can stomach sunflower seeds and (minimal) walnuts, but everything else makes me so very ill!!! Even my old favorite, almond butter, leaves my tummy in pain! The only things that seem to be okay with my body are fruits and vegetables. I even made some sweet potato chips in the dehydrator (oh, they were SO scrumptious - I sprinkled each chip with some finely minced red onion and my WORD, were they heavenly!), but they made me feel bleh. My question is this: Is it okay for me to only be eating fruits and veggies? Does my body NEED the protein from the nuts? I'm really really new to this and don't quite fully understand which nutrients we get from where and how much we need of them. I just want to be sure I'm not missing anything important from my diet! Today, all I've had is plums, bananas, nectarines, and a handful of raw sunflower seeds and I feel FABULOUS! I'll have a big salad with lots of veggies on it for supper, and I know I'll feel fine. Is this okay? Please help! Thanks!

Hey Myself Again,

Well, one thing I want you to always keep in mind is that with raw foods, NOTHING is or has to be a permanent thing. It could very well be that for now, yes your body only wants fruit and veggies and this could be for a reason...some sort of internal healing that needs to take place. But you might find that sometime later on down the line, maybe even a few days from now or maybe a month, you may start craving nuts and be able to eat them with none of what you are feeling right now.

So, go with what your body is signalling - some may argue that you "need" the FAT (not so much the protein) from nuts and some may argue that you do NOT need it. You will get protein from fruits and veggies and amino acids needed for your body to create protein from greens...but I honestly think that this is just a temporary thing your body is going through and you should just heed to it but don't feel that it will necessarily be a lifelong thing.
