Has anyone read anything on flax being a possible inhibitor of iodine uptake by the thyroid? I've read that one or two T per day should be no problem. I wondered if this is just one source's information or if it is a generally accepted fact that too much flax can have this effect.
Thank you.

I've not heard of it affecting the thyroid; however, flax should not be consumed in large amounts. It contains cyanogenic glucosides, but "generally" not dangerous to health if taken no more than 3 TB per day; this, according to a study on flax. The conclusion was that 6 TB were considered okay.
I consume 1 TB per day, or another EFA source per more conservative doctors's recommendations.
