I was just wondering if you could digest unsprouted brown rice ,just soaked rice?

I found a Curry Rice recipe a while back on another web site that called for simply soaking the rice for about 12 hours and I tried it but it didn't work, it was still hard and not edible. Would love to hear if anyone else has had luck with this.

it usually works pretty good with wild rice, but not with brown rice...soak the wild rice for 12 or more hours, until they split open ...try a little bit to see if it's done yet...i've tried this with brown rice and i just kept soaking it for like 3 days and it didn't get soft...i don't know why...i heard though that they blanch wild rice b4 it hits the store...does anyone know about this?
