Great news for most of you!
I was reading an ebook by the lovely Storm and Jinjee over at www.thegardendiet.com and came across a link where you can find local farmers markets in your area!
http://www.ams.usda.gov/farmersmarkets/map.htm
Just click on your state and scroll down to your city (or those near by. Quick way to do this press ctl-f to bring up the find screen and type in your city and press next. It'll take you stratight to your city that way.) and you'll get the day they hold it, where, a number you can reach, the hours, if they're year round or not! I think this is pretty cool. I'm going to put all my local ones on a nice backdrop and print it out and put on my wall or fridge to encourage to my produce there. Plus, farmers markets always get me more excited about the food I'm about to eat. And since most of them pick their stuff the day before or the day of, you know you're the freshest you can (unless you have your own garden) and most are organic too.
Enjoy!
