Okay, so I mentioned before that I'm the HABA buyer at the Co-Op where I work, so naturally I get all sorts of wonderful discounts on vitamins from companies like New Chapter and Pioneer... I prefer New Chapter, personally. Anyway, before I went raw, I took a multi and a probiotic in the morning, along with my Diet and Energy formula. These are ALL New Chapter vitamins by the way, if that means anything to anyone. Then with lunch I'd take another Diet & Energy, and a B Complex. If I didn't, I'd get really sluggish in the afternoon. I spaced by that dose today, and I didn't see much of an effect. I know raw fooda are supposed to give me MORE energy, so I'm thinking that's probably why.
Anyway, the question is: should I continue to take my vitamins? If not, how far along should I be before I stop with the supplements? Does it make any difference if I want to continue taking them, or will they screw things up in my system? I just gotta know!

I took a probiotic took. Just one pack which was 2-3 week supply? What was it supposed to do for my body. I thought it was going to help my digestion and etc but I didn't notice anything different. I do not feel changed?
Any opinions..

Stop taking them and find out. They're not drugs so it's not as though one has to wean themselves from them.
As far as whether you "should" continue taking "your" vitamins, is up to you. Thing is, if you want to be on a living foods program why put dead vitamins in your body?

I have heard alot of horror stories over the years about vitamins not dissolving and finding lots of them in the intestine - even the gelcap ones! I don't know if it is true or not but I don't like flushing them down the toilet. They cost alot of money and then I flush.
I have some painful lumps in my body that no doctor has ever given me an answer for. A hillbilly gal that I don't get to talk to often enough told me in between long hauls that those painful lumps are calcium deposits and that I most likely got them when I was doing calcium supplementation for osteoporosis. She worked in a hospital for a long time. Anyway, I have had the lumps for years - raw has helped them to hurt less but sometimes they still hurt like heck anyway! Occasionally one will grow and break a piece off and travel through my body and that hurts. No more vitamins or calcium supplements for me!

trinity...., I have read that a good probiotic is hard to find. Most are so weak that you won't notice anything. I am not sure where the problem is - like if they say they have 10 million little buggers in there but they are 10 million DEAD little buggers - won't help you. Too complex for me.
holisticfox, I make green juices like spinach and cilantro and they keep me from falling asleep at work. Many where I work have problem falling asleep but I don't need coffee, I don't need Code Red or Rock Star, I need green juice and I stay awake!

The probiotics are technically alive (as long as you keep them in the fridge), and the other vitamins are all food-based... You know, spinach, tumeric, fermented soy... Those are probably dead, though. I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

I would seriously consider not taking vitamins. You are getting more than 400% of what you need if you are eating raw. Plus, vitamins in pill form don't work the same way as in natural sources. For example, your body will pull enough vitamin A out of your food to fill its exact need and discard the rest. But for some reason, when you give your body Vitamin A in a pill, your body tries to either use it all or store it, which causes problems with your bones, etc.
