Hi I've been looking around this site off and on all day, a few years ago I went raw for 3 months only eating sliced onion, bell peppers, cucumbers and occasionally an apple with sea salt and lemon juice. I lost 30 lbs then had a birthday party for a family member and ate a piece of cake and I've never made it back to raw since. I can't seem to find the strength to turn down all the processed foods that are continually brought into the home and cooked under my nose. I honestly don't have any rememberance of where my strenght came from before. It seems I've just shut down my mind to what the SAD is doing to me and my family and just dove in. I seem to be stuck in a rut, maybe I've found an answer by locating this site with all of you, back in 2003 there didn't seem to be anyone out there that thought like I did.
I think this time though I need some real recipes so I can feel like I'm still eating, where do you suggest I look for some good free raw recipes? Thanks for your help and good luck on your journey to health.

Welcome! I have heard of the zeolites before but have not tried. Yes there are many recipes here but you will be very happy if you buy Alissa's book and DVD. The link is on the upper left of this page. These are good recipes to tempt your SAD family to raw.

Thank you for your quick response. I will order them. I noticed a couple of other things on the site I have questions about if you don't mind. The new class on the 27th, where do I locate that? And the 30 day challenge....is this where we post daily our progress etc. or is there someplace special?
About the zeolites... they've been great for me and my daughter helping us get well faster....the healing crisis was different for each of us.....I guess my 30+years of toxins made mine longer......again thanks for you quick reply

Welcome to a great forum !
I see you did a Raw diet--but I have found that a *lifestyle* is what truly works. ;)
You will find a TON of really great fun recipes on this site. Plus-order Alissa's book /DVD combo. It's like she is right there teaching you.
Have fun! :)

Remember:
There are no raw food police. Find a level of raw food eating that you ARE very comfortable with and stretch from there. That is YOUR path. Be honest with it my friend. You'll get GREAT support from Rawkinlocs and the real folks who are walkin the walk on this wonderful forum (including myself).

You two are exactly right....that's what hit me a few days ago that there is no one that can tell me no and inforce it, it's all my decision and that's when I hit the computer again and began reading up on raw again to try to get totally back into the mindset.....It's Working!!! Yea!
I'm headed to the store to get some more items, cucumbers are very high on my list since they are so alkalinizing.

It's interesting to me how I can do some things 'all or nothing,' but other things, it's basically, "Okay, I can do this, but that's too much." I find it easier, myself, to stick to "all or nothing," with my dietary lifestyle, because I have this tendency to say to myself:
"Well, I had a piece of cake... just as well eat the whole thing!"
Yet when it comes to working out, I can get back into it slowly, because I don't say to myself, "Oh, I only lifted 10 pounds, just as well lift none!"
Strange, isn't it? For me, when I eat one "wrong thing," i'm a big failure... yet when I fail to lift one extra pound or whatever, it's just a bump in the path and I just keep on going.
I've often wondered why food is so different in that manner.

Me too! I am exactly the same way, even for some spelt tortilla roll with beans I feel I've messed up because....well the spelt tortilla came in a package and my brain says all packaged food is dead food.....do you think this is true? It's from Food For Life Ezekial 4:9.......

I think, in all honesty (and others may disagree with me), that you shouldn't yet focus so hard on doing it perfectly.
You're intentionally going out of your way to come as close as you can to raw, with the knowledge that you have. Rather than over-analyze, "Okay, so did I do okay with THAT item that I ate?" look at the bigger picture.
You're back into the intention of eating right.
Is the spelt tortilla okay? Well... it's been baked, so it's cooked food.
But is it a step in the right direction? YES. So rather than analyze whether or not it's "okay," just say, "ah, well, I thought I was doing fine when I ate it, so it's okay. Now I know- then I didn't." It is better to make the ATTEMPT to eat raw, than to knowingly deviate.
It is just as important to give yourself kudos for your intention to eat right, as it is to "eat right."
I was reading something from one of Allisa's links on her site, and it said something that had a LOT of meaning for me personally. Maybe it will help you, too.
In essence, the site said, "Don't feel guilty about what you eat, because the energy of guilt will have a bad effect on your body in and of itself."
Remember, anything you say to yourself should be something you can say to someone you dearly love. if you wouldn't beat up someone you dearly love for eating something they THOUGHT was right but wasn't... then don't do it to yourself.

Okay that does make sense and yes I tend to be a very serious analyzer in the whole life spectrum. I think that's why I give up sometimes I get to involved in my thinking and feeling guilty......Thanks so much for the great insight...I will work on it!
