I saw a program on tv the other day and this lady had some GREAT ideas for kids' foods, except they weren't raw.

Here are a couple. Maybe we can figure out how to make them raw?

First, she took slices of red apple with the peel still on, maybe 1/2 to 3/4 inch thick. Then she spread each slice with nut butter. Then she put wee marshmallows along one edge then slapped the top on and it looked llike a big ole toothy smile! really, really cute! So here's the stickler... what could you use for the marshmallow teeth?

Second, she took small tomatoes and hollowed them out. Then she put them on top of boiled eggs. Then she dotted the tomatoes with orange dressing which made them look amazingly like amanita mushrooms! So what could you use for the eggs and dots?

The kids loved these....

Oh yeah, then nutbutter in celery with raisins was "ants on a log" but I think I've seen that one on here.

Ideas?

Maybe use almonds instead of mellow's? I dont think almonds are anything the same lol but it would make cute teeth !!! ;)

For the a snaggletoothed smile you could used shredded coconut (the large kind)! Or slivered almonds. You could blend up some coconut butter and (nuts maybe) and a little vanila. Spread it on really thinly in glass dish. Freeze than carve out little squares for the teeth. Like the fudge recipe - only no cocoa powder.

For the mushroom caps... what would replace an egg? Maybe you could use jicama and carve it to look like a mushroom stump. Then use nacho cheese for the spots on the tomato?

Fun ideas!
