Good afternoon. I spent all day yesterday doing raw, and this morning I woke up famished. I ate and ate, but I couldn't seem to feel full. I tried having some cooked food, but that just made me feel lousy, and still hungry. Finally I had an idea. I took my dried pears and raw cashew butter out of the cupboard and ate a few pieces and I was fine. I've always seemed to have trouble trying to figure out what exactly it is that my body is asking for, so I eat my way through the cupboards and fridge trying to figure it out.

How do I know what my body wants when my mind always thinks it wants something cooked?

Otherwise I've taken to it pretty easily. I loved the Lemon Pudding recepie on cut Cortland apples.

Just a little background info incase anyone's interested:

I'm a HABA buyer at my local food Co-Op. I have my herbalism certificate from Crystal Garden Herbs in Springfield, VT, and a BFA in Writing from Green Mountain College in Poultney, VT. I like role-playing, weight liftin, yoga, DDR, Live Journal (http://unseeliekin.livejournal.com), writing, and dancing. I guess that's all.

Any questions (or answers to my question of course) are welcome and appreciated.

Try drinking green smoothies when you have those cravings. They work for me. Instantly fill me up and the "want" then is no longer there. I make mine simple.
2 cups filtered water
handful of greens (spinach (most of the time), leafy lettuce, kale, etc)
a couple fruits of your choice (banana, apples, orange innerds, etc.)
teaspoon of Maca powder
whiz in blender and you got a power drink!
And welcome to the Raw world baby! :D

That sounds fantastic. I'm drooling. I'm gonna go see what I have in my fridge...

Almost all "undefined" cravings are for water. Yep, seriously.

Water is also a natural appetite suppressant.

When you get an undefined craving, have a glass of water and wait 20 minutes. If you are still craving, then you are actually hungry, and not thirsty.

They really are power-packed instant meals. I have at least one a day, sometimes 2x a day.
I suggest too Victoria Boutenko's book, Green for Life. Amazing book. Amazing woman! ;)
Just ask my dear and we here accommodate!!!

That's what I thought too. I keep my Nalgene bottles with me at all times, and I had been drinking water all day. Water is a wonderful thing.
