Could someone tell me how to make sunflower seed milk? Do I need to soak the seeds first and for how long? What all goes in the milk?
Also my kids are craving cheese. I've seen recipes for nut cheese, but haven't tried tham since they can't have nuts. Is it possible to make something like this from seeds instead? Or would something else be a better substitute for cheese?
Thanks

You just soak the seeds overnight. Rinse them in the morning. Add about a cup and a half of water per cup of seeds, then blend together in the blender until very smooth. Then take a nut milk bag and strain out the liquid. (You can use a new pair of knee highs if you don't have a nut milk bag.) I don't like the taste of sunflower milk much. I prefer sesame milk.

Thanks! I have some sesame seeds I've been trying to find a use for so we'll have to try both. Oh and thanks for the knee-hi tip too. I was going to try a gauze diaper, but I bet hose would work better.

You can also use paint strainer bags. A bag of 2 small bags at Lowes is around $3-$4.
