Just put in my first ever batch of onion bread. Can't wait to try it.
What do you put on it?

LOL this is my 2nd batch. My 1st batch was gross.
I put ground flax seeds
Ground sunflower seeds
Olive oil
garlic
salt
and slivered onions.
I sandwich it between plastic wrap and roll it with my pin and cut it into squares. I sure hope it tastes better this time lol :p

I made my first batch of onion bread...I had great ideas I was gonna use it for...sandwiches, maybe avocado and sprouts, maybe some marinara sauce and make a pizza...but....I ended up eating it in two sittings....well, maybe it was 3...sooooooooooooooooooo good....I dehydrated about 24 hours, maybe could of been done more to be crisper...it was soft and yummy...I'm think'n next time I'll make a double batch but I'm afraid I'll sit and eat it all again and not make sandwiches....oh , the onions got so yummy ...
Trinity...what happened that it came out bad??? I kinda tweaked my recipe and added some sesame seeds, too, cuz I had em....
That's cool that you got your dehydrator...I like your enthusiasm..

The first time I made onion bread I was able to control myself and cut it up into nice rectangles for sandwiches. I put a pate spread on the bottom with avocodo , tomatoes and lettuce. I've made it about 3 times since then (with another batch in the dehydrator right now). Two times nothing came out of the dehydrator. I kept snacking on it and almost finished everything in one day, boy did I smell like onions and my hubby wasn't happy LOL. The second time I was able to make a few sandwich pieces, the rest was eaten out of the dehydrator but those pieces ended up as snacks... I'm really going to try to control myself this time. THAT SMELL from the dehydrator doesn't help any though!
Trinity... you HAVE to stop posting pics of those onion rings. I am absolutely DROOLING over here. I only have a 4 tray and they are all being used. No room for any more goodies! Must wait on those... how'd they turn out? I looked the recipe up and everyone was RAVING about them... saying they were better than SAD. What's your take?

Not better than sad but pretty darn close! It's tricky because you want the onion in the middle soft yet you want the coating crunchy. It's one of those trial and error recipes :D

Am going to prepare a creamy corn chowder in a few minutes. Weakened today and had a little bag of chips. Feel like throwing up I feel so awful. Don't know what posessed me. Maybe the corn chowder will soothe the tummy and get me back on track. A nice lady in the produce dept. reminded me that some nice warm ginger tea would help, so will be adding that to my evening refreshment.
Not sure if you do miso but I've heard miso soup is good for upset stomach.

I planned on making the onion rings tomorrow - so perfect timing for the pics.
Ama - Sonoma? DH and I will be there for a couple of days next month on vacation. Do you have a link? If so, I'd love any recommendations you might have.
