since going vegan 14 years ago ive been growing a garden anywhere
from 30 x 180 to 30 x 60 every year . and every year ive gotten tens of seed catalogs from which i buy my seeds , so since this is the time to order seeds i thought ide post my favorite companies to get catalogs from =

www.territorialseed.com - great/complete company into organics

www.superseeds.com - this is the web address of a very neat small company called pinetree garden seeds which is ran by all women . ide suggest their 1 ounce packets of spinach blend and loose leaf lettuce blends as very excellent purchases .

www.richters.com - maybe thee total medicinal herb seed powerhouse on EARTH . their catalog is great/educational/stocked with a thousand herb seed types .

www.highmowingseeds.com - a new and small family company that is TOTALLY organic . they grow their own seeds in totally natural/organic ways

www.willhiteseed.com - texans who do things in the big texas way because you can get big packages of seed cheap .

www.vermontbean.com - 100's of different bean seeds

www.totallytomato.com - 100's of different tomato . i give them credit for their enormous seed collection , its a needed company . but i'll warn that a few times i got seeds from them with low germination (sprouting) rates . so if you order a seed from them ya may want to order it in large amounts so you have enough . though ive gotten seeds from them with high germination rates also , so good with the bad from my experience . i'll take the gamble to experiment with the large selection of seed .

Thanks for Sharing.........Yes the Catalogs are arriveing.. I usually plant tomatoes and a HOT PEPPER Family, which I get from the Depot.

I use my Catalogs to order ROSES. I just filled out an order last night for 2 Weeping Tree Roses and Patio Tree Roses. Do you think I Love Roses???

I am mostly into Trees. I have 3 Peach trees. 4 Apple, 1 Pear with 5 varieties on one tree, 2 oranges-1 Navel and 1 Blood, 1 kaumquat, 1 Grapefruit. 1 Lemon, 2 Plum-1 Pluot and 1 SantaRosa, I Lime, 1 Tangerine and 2 Red Bananas (the frost might have taken it toll on them)

I TRY TO EAT ALL THE FRUIT, ESPECIALLY THE PEACHES.....I start eating them before the Birds know they are ripening.

I use Dwarf and SELECTIVE prunning. Buy I Love everyone of them.

did you really want to know all of this....Anyway I Love my hands in DIRT and take a shower and I'm CUTE again.......................

Cool for posting roman!

I also really like www.rareseeds.com which is the site for Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company. It's nice to actually get their hardcopy of their catalog sent to you, though their online system works great too. The have a great collection of melons amongst other things, as well as some great eggplants. Quantities are decent/generous too. Nice folks too, and their owner was involved in campaigning against GMOs if you feel strongly about that.

roman, I am also a fan of Richters. I can't imagine that it would get any better than that for herbs, and their print catalog is amazing as you say, a real "read". Also if you order seeds only the shipping is free :D .

In Australia these are my current favourites:

Forbidden Fruits (tropical fruit and interesting trees - they ever sell goji berry bushes)
Eden Seeds - They have an organic branch - all are heirloom
Greenpatch Seeds - 100% certified organic and heirloom variety

The variety they have is simply amazing! We're about to create a fruit orchard and I have over 100 trees on my list now!!

I'm going to make a recommendation for Canadian gardeners. I get a lot of my seeds from this site, and I've really great success with them. I'm going to be placing my 2007 order in the next few weeks!

YAY! I love having a garden. Sadly... :( OUR family's 10 year old lab passed away last year. :( Tearfully, but in his honor, I can now plant a much bigger garden. I would love to grow from organic seeds (as most plants are not organic) BUT I have NEVER been able to get anything to grow from seeds. What should I do??? I need a fool-proof method! HELP, HELP, before it's too late.
