Check this out:
http://www.sproutrawfood.org/faq.htm
And just start eating raw fruits, veggies, nuts and seeds.
Have big chopped salads with raw apple cider vinegar and cold pressed Olive Oil,
Make some all fruit or fruit/ greens smoothies!
There are endless possibilites.
I always say, focus on the yummy things you CAN eat, vs. negetive thoughts such as what you can't eat etc.
Hope this helped!

That's really up to you. Some people eat only three meals a day. Some eat those plus snacks. Some eat only snacks or small meals all day long.
And on this way of eating, anything raw and vegan is good.

Yes raw and Vegan. But eat as much as you need.
You still need fuel and you're probably going to detox some and will need energy to get your body through that...so eat what you want when you want as long as it's raw...my appetite was huge in the beginning and now it's not so huge.
Just remember greens are important...find some that appeal to you. I never like "eating leaves" but I love little baby sprouts and sprinkle them on everything. Pretty too.
Have fun tomorrow on your first day...what's for breakfast? :)

Yep! Just don't stress, and eat when you're hungry, and stop when you're full.
You'll have better results if you don't over-do the nuts and oils, but if that's what it takes to transition for you, then go ahead and don't worry about it :)

I'd say that's personal choice.
I'd recommend drinking Matcha Green tea, as it's a more pure/raw form, and thus higher in antioxidents etc., but again, it's your choice.
I figure that if that's whats going to keep you sane, go for it :)

No, this is a raw vegan diet, meaning no meat, no dairy.
Especially since most of those are cooked or or pasturized.
I've had great sucess with this lifestyle!
I'm 5'1, and I used to be 140 lbs, which is just way too heavy for someone of my frame size.
When I switched over, I dropped to 105 in about 3 months, (although I did try to walk for 30 min. everyday, so exersize was involved) and it was pretty effortless. You'll feel better, your bad food cravings will go away, and you'll glow!
I highly recommend this lifestyle :)

No because those things are not vegan. Vegan means no animal products whatever. You can make your own nut milk or nut cheese. And I've seen a recipe for a faux egg salad here.
You can do whatever you want in terms of diet. But this board is for raw vegan only.

We don't count calories here. Eat when you're hungry. If you're not hungry, don't eat.

Some people don't lose at all. Me? I'm losing about 2 pounds per week and I'm not totally raw. I try to aim for at least 80% raw.

Not clear on what you mean.. After we eat cooked foods? You mean just eat raw until you lose as much weight as you want then go back to eating as your were?
You might wish to look through other posts here as you're asking all the questions other people new to this food program ask. The search button is the banana at the top. Just type in "green tea" or "hot tea" or, something like "what should I eat?" and see what comes up for you. There's also information for new folk on the "home" page which may answer many of your questions.
Enjoy!

If you have Alissa's book it surely doesn't state that in there. Not sure where you read that. But, that's a personal choice to go 100% raw or not. I think it's easier on your system to go 100% raw. Instead of your body still trying to digest cooked/SAD foods and using it's enzyme supplies instead of supply enzyme filled foods into your body.
And New York - that was an odd statement about after eating cooked foods. For me this is a life-time commitment. I am healed of migraines - finally, after 53 years. My thyroid is working again after being diagnosed 7 years ago dead and it was probably not functioning for years before that.
Why anyone would want to put dead foods back into their body is beyond me.... when one feels so alive eating living foods.
I suggest to all the newbies to give it a 30-day challenge. 100% like in Alissa's book. I guarantee, and there aren't many guarantees in life, but I guarantee if you follow this - totally 100% raw, you, after 30-days will not want to go back to dead foods.

Eating raw is a great way to shed excess weight, but I hope you will come to discover the joy in the lifestyle of raw eating.
To lose weight, people can do just about anything, and any diet. There are thousands out there. It's my hope that the health benefits of raw will be abundantly clear over time.
Welcome to the board!
