I've been aiming at 100% raw for 5 weeks now and I've only had a few slips, but I think my detox might be too much for me. I feel so exhausted! I want to be able to exercise and implement some other healthy habits, but I feel so out of control. All I want to do is sleep or rest to the point where I don't feel like I have enough energy to make it to my modified yoga class. I've been juicing and drinking green smoothies and a lot of water to pep myself up, but it hasn't seemed to work yet. Will this get better? Is there something more I can be doing?
RedOrchid,
I think what you are feeling could be "normal" for detox.
When I first went raw, I ended up taking off school (I'm a teacher) for one month. I slept, juiced and read everything I could about being raw. Once I relaxed about the way I felt and went with the feeling, I was ok. Sleep is very necessary, so rest/sleep.

Hi there,
It can be very frustrating but fatigue is a very common detox symptom. Try to get as much rest as you can. The best thing to do is sleep!! Listen to your body.
Also, you may want to experiment with cutting out all overt fats (nuts, seeds, oils, avocados, olives) for awhile to see if they might be causing your tiredness rather than detox. Many people find that fats make them sluggish.
All the best,
Audrey

We all go through this.
Sleep when you feel like sleeping.
Get lots of rest.
Take care of yourself, and treat your body like the precious friend it is... give it nice warm baths, steambaths, massage, salt scrubs, drybrushing... tell it how much you LOVE it and what a good job it is doing for you....
Give it support.
One morning you'll wake up feeling more alive than you've felt in years!
We promise. :p
