I decided to order my book last night. I hope this helps me, lose weight and feel better. I am anxious about not eating meat, and how this diet will work for me. But, i am willing to give it a shot, going to try the 30 day challenge. I see the success stories and hope that will be me one day. I want to lose at least sixty pounds. I weigh 185 and am 5'5"... I am currently breastfeeding my newborn son, does anyone know if this will affect my supply in anyway? How do I keep my personal journal too?

Congratulations! You will definitely enjoy Alissa's book :D

I don't know about the breast feeding question ... there is a Forum called "Raising Raw kids" and you should check there as I believe someone else recently asked that same question ...

At the top of this page you will see "(Click here for instructions on posting photos and journaling.)" You will find the instructions for journaling there ... :)

Welcome to our world ...

hi, you will find Alissa's book really helpful. she gives lots of great advice and there is lots of yummy recipes too. i was rather dubious about this diet/lifestyle but you know what, it really worked for me. i am so grateful to Alissa and this forum for all the great advice and for finding a lifestyle that is healthier and also helped me lose weight.

best wishes

Hi reddragonfly. Welcome! I am breastfeeding my baby who's nearly 11 mths and have been raw for about a month now. I have noticed no affect to my milk supply at all (it actually seems to have increased), but I am making sure I get enough of good fats (avocadoes, olives, good oils, nuts etc.). If you are giving your body all it needs - which it will be getting from all that nutrient dense raw food - then you will lose weight that your body doesn't require, but will also be giving your baby all he needs. I think the important thing is to have a varied diet - don't eat the same thing all the time.

You've made a decision that will affect the rest of your life positively.

And welcome to a great supportive board!

Lots of breastfeeding moms here, I think...just eat plenty of good fats like avocados, coconut oil, nuts....you should be fine :)
