View Full Version : Miami
Well I'm headed down to Miami - no not for the Superbowl, but to run the half marathon. I've done it before and it's been a blast, but this will be the first year without mojito's and tamales.
My google search came up with meet-up clubs but no restaurants, any suggestions?
Thanks for your help

There is a raw food restaurant on Biscayne not far from the Ice Palace Film Studio, but I can't remember what it is called. I'll look it up.
I am also interested in the restaurant. I will be there in March.
Thanks for looking it up, Amberly.

You can also check out the Glaser Farms Organic Market in Coconut Grove every Saturday at 10 am. It's not cheap...but a great place to meet folks and try some stuff you may not have tried before. That is my suggestions / recommendation.

Gilmore girl,
Where is Julio's? (The web site is down.) Is it near the boardwalk? I love visiting the Riverfront area. We go there often.
Could you get me the address? My son lives in Pembroke Pines and I am there as often as possible!
Thanks,
Nini

I still haven't found the name of the restaurant. I was in Miami in December of 2005 and right after I got back I found the address to a raw restaurant that was on Biscayne, and I thought "wow, we crossed over Biscayne everyday going to the NADA Art Fair." I MUST have written it down SOMEWHERE. I am on a mad search!!! :) :) :)

Also, a good raw food support/presentation group was meeting at Nutrition S'Mart in Pembroke Pines on Wednesdays. Give them a call to check it out.

No way!!!! I will call them when I get there. I shop there. I love it that they carry Glaser Farms food.
I am down in Pembroke Pines 3-4 times a year. I spend 5-6 weeks in the summer.
This made my day!!!!

Miami Gardens Dr., 1 mi east of 95 in the Sky Mall. 305-947-4744. I've never been there, but I've heard good things.
Of course going to the Sat Glaser Market is the best option esp. if you bring a large cooler & fill it with raw goodies to take with you.

Nini, you can also purchase these items at the market in Coconut Grove. It's on the corner of Grand and Margaret St. There is a map on their website, www.glaserorganicfarms.com I'm sure it would save you money. :D

David, is the t-shirt lady on the bike with the Palestinian head scarf still selling her works in the Grove?

Ha! ha! Good question. I only shoot down Miami way every couple of months now - so I'd have to find out! LOL. If anyone comes down this way I would be happy to host them.....or tag along to the market.....or show them around. Just give me a heads up in advance so I can mark the calendar! :)

I agree with the above poster, I love the raw farmer's market in Coconut Grove, and there is a lovely restaurant across the street, every Sat.

Where I had my first young coconut - a green one with a straw in it. I wish I could have some of the t-shirt lady's paintings! She has a raw energy!
