I love RP's brownies, but they always turn out a bit crumbly for me - they don't hold together well. Is it just that I'm not using enough dates, or should I soak them, or is that just how the recipe is?

I haven't made these in awhile...but if I remember correctly, mine were real crumbly, so I added water, like a TBS at a time, just until it kinda sticks alittle bit in the processor...and then it should form. Good luck.

Thanks! That sounds perfect - I'll try that.

If I add a little honey to it, it sticks together.

I never add any liquid or anything. If they are not sticking well, just process a little longer to release a little more of the walnuts' natural oils...this will help it bind together better.

Add more dates. It should stick together. I also wet my hands before I press the mix into a dish. I find pressing it down with wet hands holds it together nicely

Mine always turn out really moist and dense. I soak my nuts first as that provides liquid in a way...and i agree with rawkinlocs, i always process mine a bit longer and they come together.

Mine wouldn't hold together either... so I frosted them, then I made BALLS of them in my hand, frosting and all.... and put them in the fridge.

This worked GREAT!
They hold together fine and are easy to grab out of the bag when I want a sweet treat!

I usually process the mixture in the food processor longer than it says in the recipe. Also, I like to use half dates and half raisins (1/2 c. each). This makes them sweeter and more sticky.
