Good morning everyone!

I thought not cooking would be a big issue for me, but it's actually very easy for me and I really have learned to enjoy it over the last 4 days. I am finding that when I have juice smoothies in the mornings, and vegatables in the afternoon, a big salad in the evening, I am so satisfied and don't even miss my SAD way of eating.

Yesterday I went to Trader Joes. I bought all types of frozen fruits ( berries, pineapple and strawberries) plus organic produce and other " raw" goodies. Compared to what I would normally spend on eating out ( quick-instant gratification-type-pull into Chilis and load up on junk, fare).. I feel like the money I spent on good quality "raw" foods saves me money in the end. Not to mention, I feel good about myself!

I have read so many encouraging posts on the boards-- I eat when I am hungry and I stop when I am full. It's really a miracle that I found Alissa's plan. I lived in Merrimack and Manchester New Hampshire for 5 years and know exactly where Alissa's restaurant is going to open in the "sqaure" in Portsmouth, NH! The place is truly magical! No coincidences that I stumbled along Alissa's path 1:00 am in the morning last week because I couldn't sleep and was watching all the shows I tivoed for the week. Tyra happened to be one of them. None of the other guests on the show made me sit straight up and take notice to what they were saying. Alissa looked clear eyed, serene and at peace. No yelling on her part like the other "diet coaches" ** I hate the word diet..... Anyway, she was calm..... and explained in like 3 minutes why a raw dies works and basically what it is.

Anyway, I am very grateful to be here today and so happy to be raw and have all of my food in order-- Eating healthy and paying attention to what I put in this body really makes a difference in my mental attitude! Sorry for my rambling.. I am just happy to be here today with all of you! :) :)

Diane

Your note is inspirational and surely appreciated. Like you, I notice find spending money good food vs. overpriced carry out/ restaurants makes me feel good (in many ways). Being in NYC you have many choices -- if you go to some of the raw restaurants you will notice how 'regular raw fooders' just look good and are calmer.

Good you're here sharing.

Hey Diane,

Good for you! I'm on my sixth day at 100% raw after being high raw for many months and find it's true what Alissa says, that the difference between being 95% raw and 100% is the difference between night and day. I'm blessedly free of cooked food cravings, something I've been terribly hounded with in the past. I'm embarrassed to admit I ate fast food burgers up until the end, pure food addiction, but now I'm feeling wonderful and finding this raw food plan very natural and easy to do. I'm already finding babies and animals reacting to me differently!
I intend on staying 100% RAW. Enjoy your journey Diane.
