Raw Peanut Butter?

Does anyone know of or have tried to make peanut butter with raw peanuts?
How was it?

i hear raw peanuts dont taste very good..almost have a grassy taste to them..and thats why when it comes to raw nut butters most people prefer raw almond butter. raw peanuts also carry toxins in them (all raw legumes do from what ive read)..but i dont have any specifics on that :( . a google search would probably bring something up, though. raw almond butter though is very very tasty :)

I've heard the same about raw peanuts...but some do consume them, they just don't taste anything like cooked ones supposedly.

Once I mixed sprouted buckwheat with dates (chopped in) and it was delicious. It really reminded me of a sweet peanut butter for some reason! Maybe blend some together to make a mock pb and have it on a sweet raw bread or as a porridge type thing. yummmy.

I bought a big jar of raw peanut butter back in the 70s.
I was all excited.
I opened the jar and tasted it.....

I have eaten raw peanuts in the shell. I like them. The inside of the shell is so pretty. It's white, like a little soft bed the peanuts lay on. They taste more like a legume to me. A totally different taste then the roasted ones. My oldest grandguy? He cannot stand roasted peanuts or peanut butter, but tasted a raw peanut and really likes them. That's how different they taste. They are sweet.

As far as raw peanut butter? I'll have to try some the next time I get raw peanuts. I'll let ya'll know... ;)

Vegan, just a little trivia here... peanuts look like nuts, taste like nuts (cooked, that is), but they grow on vines and are classified a legume. Nuts grow on trees and are edible raw. :-{)
