This morning I made my twin boy's nut milk, banana, avocado & coconut oil smoothies for breakfast. I usually add flax oil to one of their smoothies during the day also. Just curious what kind's of oil are good and won't alter the taste in a bad way. I'm wanting the extra fats in their diet.

What kind of blender did you use to make the nutmilk? Also do you add water to thin the smoothie out a little? Learning all the tips and tricks of raw food still =) Thanks! Udos Choice oil is good it's a blend of different oils.

Yeah, I was looking for something other than coconut & flax which I'm already using. I bought some grapeseed oil today and will try that out.

Thanks!

I just use my Cuisinart blender to make smoothies. I made the nut milk up in advance and put in my fridge (2-3 days worth). 3 cups water for 1 cup of ground almonds. I had to make 3 seperate batches because my blender will only hold so much at once.

When you say 1 cup of ground almonds do you mean 1 cup of almonds before you ground them and then the 3 cups of water? Just wanted to check since I've been randomly adding water not really knowing what I was doing and not wanting to water it down too much. Thanks

what about avocado? Not sure what it would do to the taste, maybe sweeten it a bit?

I measure 1 cup before grinding. :)

What about cod liver oil? I don't know if you can add it to smoothies though.

Infants: 1/4 tsp cod liver oil per 12 lbs (5.5 kg) body weight
Children: 3 years old 1 tsp cod liver oil per 50 lbs body weight
