I wondered if we could make a list of really good main courses. With other courses it's easy to please cooked-food-eaters but I've only found one entree that was a hit with them - the Pure Food and Wine Lasagna.

Apparantly the two entrees considered the best at Pure Food and Wine are the Lasagna and the Tamales - has anyone tried them? I keep seeing people rave about them on websites.

I haven't tried it yet but I suspect the mushroom stroganoff posted recently would be another.

What are your favourite super special entrees?

I tell you. My son-in-law is a die-hard (appropriate name, huh), die-hard meat and potato guy. I prepared the marinara sauce and then spiraled the Angel Hair Pasta? He tasted and absolutely loved it! Even the next day he wanted it - straight out of the fridge mind you! That one WOW's the SAD eaters. :D
That marinara is THE best I've ever eaten - E V E R!
And the Angel Hair Pasta is unbelievable!
Good stuff!

Thanks for the answer! I'll make sure to try it at as soon as I can. I have a spirooli but I can't get it to work - I can only make 2 inch strands at the most :( there's nothing wrong with the machine, I just can't get the hang of it - and now I've lost the little silver blade so I can't make anything at all!

I like Shazzie's Ragu so in the past I've served that to cooked-eaters with arame or chinese-style-bean-sprouts, or with chopped cauliflower and mushrooms, and it was always a disaster and they refused to try raw food again.
I've been trying to get hold of hijiki for years because it looks like black spaghetti but I couldn't find any. Recently I found some and served it with the ragu and my mum (meat and potatoes gal) really liked it.
Then I searched on this forum and found a thread which said hijiki is never raw - always steamed. :( So no wonder she liked it :( So back to the drawing board.

I've never tried Alissa's marinara because all the ones I've tried other than Shazzie's haven't been as good, but I'll make sure to try it now. Is it the same as the one in the ravioli? I made those once.

I find that pizza is always a hit with SAD eaters....and it was the first raw gourmet food item that i ate. I guess thats what got me hooked ;)

Plus with pizza you can do so many different toppings to suit preferences.
Sometimes i use a tomato sauce, guacamole, or nut cream as the sauce.

OH PS on my last note....
i know that pizza isnt a gourmet item - well in the SAD world. But you SAD friends will love it :)

And i thought of something else that even my "meat and potatoes" boyfriend really likes!
A sandwich with Russel's almond bread!!! My fave is to top it with thick sunflower seed dressing, lettuce, spinach, avocado, and tomato. Get ready for an experience!!!!!!!
