Hello all,
Last night I went to my local Trader Joe's to do my grocery shopping. I've been craving bread but trying not to eat the regular bread with flour in it because of the paste reference I read on here a few days ago. So I was going to settle for some organic bread and THEN I found the Ezekiel 4:9 bread in cinnamon raisin and sesame. I bought both and the cinna-raisin is great!!! I also found the raw Lara bars there the apple pie bar was wonderful. So I just wanted to share since I was so happy and only you guys understand! My coworkers dont/wont!
Thanks all,
D
Slowly but surely I will be 100% raw!!!!

Heheh...no I meant raw honey buttee, not butter...as in a jam buttee? :D
I just added a 'z' at the end in place of an 's'. Anyway, a jam (or in this case, raw honey) buttee is simply when you layer one slice of bread on top of another, with your favourite choice of sweet filling between each slice. You can add as many layers as you please. That's a buttee :) I don't make the honey, I buy it locally from the healthfood store...raw manuka honey. It's delish! Thanks for the name of the website by the way!

What's this bread? Is it the sprouted kind? I purchased some at TJ's - but always thought I was "cheating" when I ate a slice...

Yes, it's the sprouted bread. It isn't raw but D is transitioning so is a step in the right direction for her.

Aww it's not raw? :o I live a couple of doors down from a nice little bakery, and the smell of their bread-baking throughout the night has got me crawling up the wall!

Nope, not raw but is a far better choice than the standard organic bread D had set out to purchase.

It's NOT raw!!! It says on the bag that it has living enzymes. It says the baking process preserves the valuable nutrients and retains the important natural fiber and bran. I thought with all that, it was raw. OH DARN!!!
But the Lara bar is? right?
Thanks,
D

hey D..dont beat yourself up! larabars are 80%+ raw, and the ezekiel bread is a whole heck of a lot raw-er than wonder bread!
still very healthy choices for a transitioning person. no worries at all! :)

I used to buy ezekiel bread (pre raw journey) although I really didn't like it. It's like...uh...really hard cardboard. Bleh.

:p well aside from not actually making honey myself (but nevertheless loving the taste of it), I might as well be! Let's see...I'm industrious, always busy flitting from one thing to another, and I tend to hum as I work. I'm socially-oriented/community-minded, and before becoming a vegetarian, I used to suffer from hives :D (groan I know, not very funny haha!) :D

I'm glad to hear your housing situation has improved since going vegetarian. You can probably move throughout the combs more easily. You're right! You aren't funny, you are hilarious! I'm in stitches and feel like someone has wrenched my spleen!! Hahahehe!! Should we call you "Nectar" for short?

If you wish. Beats 'nec' or 'neccy' I guess :)

I actually called the company, and the manna bread also...they say "low temperature" for their description....they bake them at 300 degrees.....soooo sad, and sorry to break it to you...drop it and you won't miss it after a month....it took me that long. now, It is just not something I think about....IF the pizza guy comes and the husband and kids eat it....I STILL have to leave the room though!!!!! Good Luck! short term vs. long term...keep your eye on the goal............

From what I understand, it is possible to make bread classified as 'raw', but you need a dehydrator to make it. That will be third on my list of major raw accessory purchases

I used to get mixed up between the words RAW and PURE. One time I saw on a jar labeled 100% PURE ORANGE JAM and I was like Oh wow! 100% pure jam.. I can eat that!! Then I looked at the label and it has strange perservates or 100% pure fruit juice isn't 100% pure either!! Bahh!! So much for the pure part! :o

Mmmm. Lara bars are wonderful, but a wee bit out of my grocery budget. They're fantastic for a special treat, though. :D

I'm intent on 100% discipline with this diet, as I want to fully realise the potential benefits of it. I don't intend to slip up, so that really means I can only trust the basic fruits, veges, nuts, seeds, grains, spices, herbs, raw honey etc. Anything complicated beyond that and, well, companies have a way of wording things that can make you think their product is one thing when it's actually another
