OK so I saw the tyra show, and thought wow I can't believe I have never heard of this before. Not raw food, but an actual raw plan laid out for me.
beSo I do not have the book yet but I am heading out to get it this weekend. So here is the skinny on me(pun intended!) ;) My name is Shelly, I live in Oklahoma, and I am a 30 year old wife and mommy of 4(ages 9,7,5, &3), and I have recently gone back to school to get my degree in early childhood education. I have not always been overweight, I use to be a cheerleader for goodness sakes! I started putting on weight with my first pregnancy, and have packed on an aditional 150 lbs. over the last 10 years. Soooo I am sick and tired of being sick and tired, and I believe raw is the answer, after all that is what God intended us to eat in the first place, right? :D Well I am looking forward to making new friends and a new life.

Welcome! I am a 33 yo mom of 4 (5,10,12,15) and totally new to this as well. I just became a vegetarian for New Year's, and it's going great, but it's still too easy for me to snack on breads and crackers! I think going raw is the next logical step.
However, I know everyone is different in how they approach this. Since none of my family is even a vegetarian, it makes it even harder. I plan on eating totally raw for every meal except dinner. I'll keep that a cooked vegan. (For me anyway) I think that's a good place to start for me personally.
Yay! Glad to meet another mom who's willing to do this also!

So glad to hear that you are just sick and not really sick. There is so much power in Prevention than seeking a cure and that is what I think you want to do.
HAPPY, HAPPY, you heard RAW talking and you are willing to let RAW CHANGE your Life. RAW is Always the Answer, just waiting for you to ask the question.
HOO-RAW for getting back in School......RAW,RAW.......
You are making a decision that will effect not only the Lives of your Children but for generations to come. You are tearing down and building a NEW Family History. Our eating habits effect out geines and we pass it on, from generation to generation until someone (you) breaks the curse.
I do hope Alissa's Book is in Book Stores. Usually you have to order it from this site. But DO READ ALL YOU CAN ABOUT RAW.
I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.....Welcome to MY World.....

See? It's not coincidence, I'm telling you. Alissa is an Angel sent to us.
Welcome. You wait until you start feeling better! WHOA! You will not believe how well you feel. I too was at my wit's end. I was so sick of feeling sick and tired. The next day - did you hear that? The NEXT DAY I felt better. The next day after going 100% raw that it. It's not only the food, but it's a mindset. I read every single letter in Alissa's book. Please try and get Alissa's book. It is THE best one out there, trust me - I have almost of 'em!!!
Welcome to the RAW world baby!!!

hi, i too saw this on the tyra show and was interested. i tried to get the book from a book store and cant find it except online. did u find it? i have 5 kids (17, 15, 12, 10 and 2 mo) and have "baby" weight i want to get rid of. I am concerned about starting this since there are 7 of us and my husband loves "meat and potatoes" to eat. This diet sounds good not only to lose this extra weight but to feel and look healthy. not the weight down yucky feeling you have after eating McDonalds..lol...
Good luck..

You can actually get the book on this web site. As far as the diet you are right. It is good for health and feeling better. I have been on it for 9 days now. I have lost 9 pounds, but, the best part is how I feel. I have suffered from acid reflux for years and as of late my cholesterol (350) and blood pressure (borderline High) have been out of wack.
Today I had a dental appointment. When they check my blood pressure it was 122 over 72. That is only one week on the diet. I have not had to take anything for acid reflux for a week. I can't wait to see how my cholesterol has improved.

Hi Shelly,
I'm an Oklahoma girl myself, now in Arkansas. You were born the year I graduated from high school in Sentinel. I know exactly where Yukon is. Garth Brooks' town, too.
This is going to be a great diet for all of us. I'm on my fifth day and I can tell that I feel much better. I've lost at least eight pounds already, mostly water I'm sure. I sure have had a hard time losing that much water before though! I'm excited about this, too.
God bless.
