Hello! My name is Melissa, and I have just discovered the wonderful world of raw! I saw Alissa on the Tyra Banks show and I just had to check out her website. After that I knew it was for me. Already being vegetarian, I think the transition won't be too hard. I am so excited to get started and can't wait to talk about it with all of you! I am 21 years old and have a beautiful daughter named Kaidyn. She is vegetarian as well, and I would love to start her on a raw diet as well. What mother doesn't want the best for their child? Although, the hubby and his family don't understand it, and often give me grief about not letting Kaidyn eat meat :( , so that's why I would love to talk about it with all you guys, I need the support! P.s. anyone else from British Columbia? Vernon, more or less?

I honestly think this is the Best thing you can do for your daughter. Vegeterian is the second. Most people don't or won't get it until they sucome to some illness and then they will try anything seeking a cure.
You see we are just Smart. We won't wait for the rush. Somebody has to be Healthy enough to help the Nay Sayers.
I know how you feel when you said "you knew it was for you" RAW has Hunt you down and embraced you. Now RAW will NEVER let you go. The Transition will be a SNAP. You won't have all the DETOX some people have the most you will have will be weakness, no break outs. You see you don't have the beast within to rid your self of.
I am so PROUD of you. You are traveling up the Rough side of the Mountain with all the opposition but smile and take it in stride because they do Love Kaidyn, they have her best interest at Heart, they just don't know that cooked food is not the best thing for you.
So hold your head up and pray for their understanding.........
I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.......Welcome to MY World........

Hello,
Welcome to the forum. I live in Victoria BC. I'd love to provide support as needed. I'm the coordinator/admin etc of the raw group in Victoria. You can check out our web-site at: http://www.islandveg.com/viva/. This site has a vegan section and a raw vegan section (which we are responsible for).
You can join our e-mail list that sends out raw info related to Victoria & BC at: http://islandveg.com/viva/node/36
Anyway, please feel free to ask me any questions,

Missy, guess what. I'm very close to where you are! I actually go into Vernon at least once a month to go to Nature's Fare. It's such an awesome store, have you been there?
I'm glad to see another person interested in this way of eating. There are actually a number of raw vegans in and around the Vernon area, some in Enderby and some in Kamloops that I know of.
You're welcome to email me if you like and perhaps we can get together over a salad someday.
(I'm 43, with four kids, two left at home) No one else in my family is even remotely interested so I'm kinda standing alone here too - I know how you feel.
