Rawsome Ginger

I am a little over 14 weeks pregnant and still very sick. Still vomiting and no energy to even get out of bed. Am still barely functioning. Am not 100% raw. Has anyone out there been sick this long before? Very frustrated.

I personally never had morning sickness, but I know many woman who've had it the whole time (hope that's not your case). Just thought I'd pop in to make sure you knew eating (or even just chewing) straight (real) ginger makes nausea go away immediately.
Congrats, by the way :D

I had morning sickness all day and all night long up until a few weeks AFTER my son was born
Terrible! Terrible! I puked more times then I can remember. My doctor put me on gravol (which normally you should not take during pregnancy) and that didn't even do much for me.
It sucks. I would say drink lots and go for the smoothies. They are easier to puke up then something like hummus EWWW :D

I am so sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time. A friend of mine was always sick almost her entire pregnancy (she has 5 children). I certainly hope that does not happen to you. If it does though, you are not alone, and there is nothing wrong with you. Some women just have harder pregnancies. Like I said before I hope that is not the case with you.
I just wanted to chime in on the ginger. I would do a lot of research before eating ginger (or even drinking the tea). I have read in the past that ginger is not the wonderful pregnancy miracle it is made out to be. There have been studies to show that it may cause miscarriages. Now I don't know if that is true, but I read it and it scared me enough to not want to take the chance if it is true. So my advice would be do some research and decide for yourself what you think. I'm justing throwing it out there for you.
As far as being sick, if you can lay around then do it. I know it gets boring after awhile just laying around. Once that baby comes you won't have much time for laying around (hehe). Maybe your body just needs some extra rest right now. You are working very hard making an amazing beautiful new little person. Take it easy on yourself and relax as much as you can.
Are you able to keep food down? Is it just stomach sickness and nausea or actual puking? I have found that eating a little bit every 1 - 1 1/2 hours seems to help, and not letting myself get to hungry.
Just some suggestions. I hope you feel better soon!

Thanks guys! I've been depressed for awhile now. I tried ginger tea previously and it came up immediately. Each day is different, yet the same routine. When I think I'm ok, I'll eat something and then it makes me sick. Sometime right away, sometimes it will sit and drive me nuts for a couple of hours. I did eat a baked potato yesterday (yes, I know, cooked) but it worked great. Can't even think of a green smoothie, but what do you think as far as smoothies that are easy on the tummy? Or that might give me a boost of energy?

Maybe you should try to eat more bland foods. Yes, potatoes, although not raw, seem to do the trick well. However, pears are good for nausea, they are the one thing I kept down after having a stomach bug.
How about applesauce? That is in line with the whole BRAT nausea diet. The BRAT diet recommended by doctors is bananas, rice, apples and toast. Maybe the bananas and apples, and find a sub fot the rice and toast? Or just try eating matzoh, which is what really got me through my morning sickness (if you are eating wheat that is, it's basically wheat and water).
Hope you feel better soon!
