Hey everyone! I happened to see Alisson Cohen on T.V the other day and became so intrigued by the raw way of life. Needless to say, I ordered the book and DVD, tossed out all of the junk in my cabinets, went and bought all raw foods and I am ready! Today is only day one, and yes I am taking it one day at a time, but I feel great, have lots of energy, am not hungry in the least and fee really for the first time in a long time, at peace with my body and my "food"- I've been in and out of food addiction programs just about my entire life and have lost large amounts of weight and gained it all back within a few years- Right now I am at my largest, but for some weird reason, it's ok. I am making the commitment to eat raw and take it a day at a time. I cannot wait for the Alisson's DVD to arrive. I found a few recipes online to hold me over until it gets here. So...Thank you for allowing me to join in- I find what everyone writes on these boards to be so helpful!! Good to know I'm in such good company. I'll post more tomorrow. :) :) :) :)

P.S... I had to explain "our" new way of life to my partner when she came home from work tonight. She was really shocked to find all meats and pre-packaged foods were thrown out! Ha! :p She'll learn to love it as much as me!

More tomorrow!

Diane

Hi Diane, congrats on discovering the raw way of life!

I myself am pretty new to it all but this message board is *filled* with amazing people who are so helpful and the book and dvd are great! I'm loving raw foods and I've really only been 100% for five days now... though I was eating raw meals here and there for a few months before that.

Isn't it exciting?! I know when I first started really researching raw ... I got completely addicted and haven't looked back since!

congrats again and good to have you around!

Hi Diane,

congratulations, I hope it's a really enjoyable journey for you.

Make sure to make use of this forum, it's very helpful, and you'll get lots of support and advice.

Have you considered starting a journal entry here? Thought about doing the 30 day raw challenge?

Cheers!

p.s. just be a LEETLE bit understanding of your partner and any reactions she may have. It's a big change. You might want to sit down and talk to her about it, make sure she understands. Perhaps set ground rules etc.? It would be awful if misunderstandings occured.
