Hi There,

My name is LH, and I am from Maryland. I am 6'4' and currently weigh 360lbs. (5 1/2 mths pregnant) pre pregnancy I was 335lbs. My smallest weight was 200lbs and I looked sick. I am hoping after May to work my way down to 230lbs. It has been a serious weight battle for me. I played basketball for 5 yrs and my lowest weight during this time was 250lbs. I am wondering what my plateau will be, if it is ok to start the raw diet while I am pregnant and how to handle doing this diet on my own (without my husband eating everything I buy). I know I am asking a lot of questions but I think I am way overdue doing a diet that I can handle. Tried other diets and only lost like 10lbs. It was truly depressing. Any words of advice will be greatly appreciated.

most of us women have struggled with our weight. i gave up worrying about it after college and just became comfortable with myself. i'm 4'11" so 5lbs to me is a dress size. anyway, i started to really focus on eating tons of raw food a few months ago for health reasons, and BAM i lost the weight i've been carrying since college and i'm keeping it off, not to mention i'm glowing, and i'm not even pregnant...imagine how you'll light up!

as far as pregnancy, check out www.gardendiet.com, jinjee has had several children and been raw for years, she may be a great source of inspiration and knowledge.

this site is amazing, have fun with your food!

About the Pregnancy issue, I would check the "SEARCH" at the top of this page. There should be old Thread of success stories of RAW Pregnancies.

I always look at weight loss as a byproduct of getting your Inner Body in Line and everything else will line up. By thiis happening some has lost large amount of excess GOOO. By continueing this LifeStyle the Body, as perfect as it is, will adjust and you will be at a normal weight for yourself without looking emaciated.

Do ask questions, that is why we are here. It's ALL about helping each other. Now I have a question for you. Isn't 6 feet enough? Please give me the extra 4" (*-*) I know- I wish things were that simple.... But this LifeStyle is.

Also order Alissa's Book from this site, you will find it very helpful. Already being with Child I would check with your Doctor and see what he thinks about it. READ ALL you can, I am sure someone will come and give you all your answers because they have already been through it.

Do stay in touch and let us know your progress. Don't forget to MOVE all you can, Walk...WALK......WALK.

Lighten up on your Husband.....he's with Child also, just buy him some extra FOOD.........

I wish you everything you need to Stay RAW.....Welcome to MY World........

I know that 6 '4' is a lot. It's my parents fault. My doc already suggested that I will be seing a nutritionist after the pregnancy. I don't think I need to go to that extreme, so I want to take it upon myself to handle it on my own. Paying all that extra money to someone, when I can invest it in some food that will be worth my while. But thanks for the comments and I will keep you all posted.

Hey there! I'm from MD too! What part are you from? I'm from Jarrettsville, Harford County - northern MD.
You've taken the first RIGHT step! You CAN and WILL beat this weight issue. I agree however, do a banana (up top) search and read all you can about raw and pregnancy. And then come May - I'm assuming after delivery? You will RAWK! We're here to help you!
Welcome to the RAW world!!! :D

I am from Baltimore City. I am due in May and I have been reading the garden diet website. I have gained 25lbs since the beginning of the pregnancy and 4 months to go. I am now contemplating whether to start now or wait until after the baby is born. My other problem is how do I do the diet with out my husband invading my diet. He always does. He never wants to do the diet with me he just wants to eat everything (tasty) that I buy. I have done weight watchers, slim fast, and south beach and could never have my shakes and candy bars to myself. If I do this one he will be eating all the fruit that I buy since nothing else may be appealing to him. Anyone run into this kind of problem?

my boyfriend is a hot dog eating, hydrogenated oil ingesting, sweet tooth. if he eats any of my treats or has a salad with me, i am estatic!! i just prepare double of those things he enjoys, and throw a salad on his plate while he's grilling his steak. he's very wonderful about my choices and wishes he were better with his choices. if i were in your position, i would have him try your meals, make him a side of something to enjoy with you...it will be much easier if you have a buddy and maybe eventually he will notice the change in you and decide to do it too...

for me raw food is not a diet it's a lifestyle change, a conscious decision to make your body healthy, to prevent sickness, create longevity, and reconnect to spirit.

i wish you the BEST, because you are worth it!!

Every diet I've tried, I try to get him on it so it will be a lot easier for me. He says yes, he will and after 2 days he quits, he always quits. But if he finds something I eat is tasty, he'll eat it just for eating sake. Not with a purpose towards a healthy lifestyle or anything. Or he cheats and I get upset at him. It really for me is a challenge, especially realistically budgeting what I buy without him invading; if you only knew!

Start now! There is nothing wrong with being pregnant and raw. I did my 30 day challenge while 30 weeks pregnant with my thrid. I wish I had continued.

Well,
the best time to have planted a tree was 10 years ago, the next best is NOW.
